Game Review: Garden of Shadow – The Eminence in Shadow
(Free-to-Play on PC & Mobile) Platforms:
Available to play on Steam and directly via the Crunchyroll website for both PC and mobile devices.
Pros: The game is very appealing to fans of "The Eminence in Shadow" anime series, providing extensive fanservice. Players can unlock and interact with various beloved characters, primarily focused on waifus,
through a highly engaging relationship-building mechanic. You can converse with characters,
view beautifully rendered 3D models on your home screen, and listen to authentic Japanese voice
acting accompanied by English subtitles. Building closer bonds with characters enhances their effectiveness in combat.

Additionally, numerous outfits are available for these characters, including Halloween costumes, schoolgirl uniforms, casual wear, slime suits, maid uniforms, kimonos, and other appealing variants. Furthermore, the game frequently collaborates with other popular franchises like "Fire Force," "Re:Zero," "Shangri-La Frontier," and even includes V-tubers from Hololive. Rose Oriana stands out as particularly popular and provides excellent gameplay versatility, making her an exceptional reason to try this game.

The gameplay is very casual and accessible. Battles only require a single three-star victory before you can auto-play them repeatedly, reducing grinding significantly. The game also provides an auto team-building feature, simplifying team creation.

Combat strategy is straightforward, primarily revolving around elemental advantages similar to Pokémon mechanics. Teams typically consist of three attackers, one healer, and one tank (defender), although some attackers feature life-stealing abilities, reducing the need for traditional support roles.
This casual nature ensures that gameplay is relaxed, requiring minimal strategy and virtually no skill. Players can quickly pick premade teams, making the game highly user-friendly. The game has an excellent PC port, which runs smoothly after an initially lengthy download. Performance on mobile is similarly polished, with exclusive mobile features such as "Shadowgram," a social interaction tool. The game is optimized for the Steam Deck, though using a mouse greatly enhances usability. Additionally, the settings menu is comprehensive and straightforward, enhancing overall user experience.

Cons: Gameplay lacks significant skill-based challenges, primarily revolving around collecting and leveling top-tier SSR characters. Strategic depth is minimal, mostly focused on efficiently managing gems and occasionally completing rare, skill-based mini-events. Acquiring powerful characters, especially limited-time ones, relies heavily on luck through the gacha system, which can be frustrating for players looking to secure specific characters. Downloading and unlocking content can be tedious. Although new content and franchise collaborations appear periodically, updates are relatively infrequent, leaving players waiting lengthy periods for new fanservice elements.

Unlocking the most desirable characters, costumes, and side stories demands considerable investment in time, money, and luck. Although story elements are freely accessible, unlocking premium characters is challenging, making the overall experience somewhat demanding. The game features strong pay-to-win elements, particularly evident in PvP modes. The gacha system, which guarantees characters only after numerous rolls (a minimum of 20), encourages significant financial investment. Many high-value items and exclusive characters are gated behind paid gems, requiring real-world money. Despite a friendly support team, the low probability of obtaining desired characters can lead to player frustration.
Optimized Gameplay

Tips: Speed hack the game using Cheat Engine to quickly navigate repetitive daily tasks. This helps players efficiently manage the game's slower animations by increasing gameplay speed to 2x or even 5x. Following community tier lists can significantly enhance your gameplay experience. Green SSR Sherry, especially when paired with SP+ gear for overhealing, alongside Yellow Rose Oriana as a tank, creates a formidable foundation team.

Supplementing this team with the Slime Suit Seven Shadows further improves gameplay efficiency and effectiveness. Rose Oriana is objectively the best and most versatile character in the game: Yellow Rose Oriana is an outstanding tank, reliably obtainable. Casual Green Rose, especially with SR+ gear, is a powerful hidden gem.
Slime Suit Red Rose ranks among the game's best red tanks. Idol Red Rose provides exceptional healing, including a remarkable invincibility skill during activation. Wedding Dress Rose significantly boosts SP mana, allowing for rapid and frequent skill usage, making her meta-defining. Even Rose equipped with her SS+ gear, while considered less optimal, is still a hidden gem worthy of investment.

Final Thoughts: Garden of Shadow offers enjoyable, casual gameplay, rich fanservice, and is particularly suited for devoted fans of "The Eminence in Shadow," anime enthusiasts, and those fond of free-to-play gacha games. While broadly accessible and entertaining, the game's greatest rewards are reserved for players willing to commit considerable time and possibly money to fully explore its extensive and appealing content.

Chrono-Shift Review.

The game boots, at least. You can select level 1, and the tutorial has some options and stuff, but you cannot finish the first level. When you reach the exit, the level does not finish. The game mechanics need better explanation, the rewinding time mechanic sounds nice but it is not helpful to the player. If you fall off the level, you will keep falling forever and not die. The jumping feels slow; the game has a story, but it is very dry; it feels like writing on the back of a cardboard box. The game does not work properly, and this game needs to be playtested and patched.

Do I recommend you get this game? No. The game costs 2.59 CAD, or $1.99 USD, and it is not worth that when the game is this broken and poorly made. The developer needs to playtest this and make the game work properly. The level design needs to signal what is better, and the game needs to be massively fixed. Don't buy this game until it is fixed properly.

Super Dapper Man vs. the Furries Review.

Super Dapperman is a flash retro arcade-style platformer where you beat levels and try to earn a high score. I received a free review copy of this game to tell you about the good and bad here.

How the game works and runs.

The game works on Windows, Linux, Steam Deck, and Steam OS, according to a few tests I did.

The files mainly seem to be audio. This game only has English language support. The game has PC and controller prompts; it has window settings; and the game is still in early access. The game has great controller support with many keybinds set that you can change in Steam settings.

Pros
1 The game is really simple and feels like a flash game you play a few times with some challenge but something you can beat easily. You move, jump, throw coins for a ranged attack, collect monocle's as a powerup/health pack, and try to beat levels in a good time. This game is a solo developer's first game in GDOT. The developer is the YouTuber Mr. Dapperton, so the game has that as a feature while being a decent functional game. The developer has added 21 levels of content so far.

2 The game has interesting mechanics that make the game more than a simple barebones platformer. It has the ability to jump 5 times. You can get a power-up for getting 5 killstreaks up to 15 killstreaks that level up your jump and speed until you hit the ground. Collecting the monocles can level up your aura from no aura to blue aura to max purple aura. You can also collect coins as a ranged weapon. You can also slow down time to jump better. The game has a bunch of monsters, traps, and game types and a fun final boss fight. You get a counter for how long it took you to beat the level at the end of timed levels.

Cons
1 The game is 2D and runs fine; however, the game has no options menu to change any settings. The game is simple; it works well and feels like a flash game, but even flash on Newgrounds had more features. The game is about getting a high score by finishing the level quickly; however, this record does not save in a local high score or a leaderboard. Gold is really just ammo to throw at furries for that level; gold is not counted or saved at the end of the level in leaderboards, and you cannot buy anything in any kind of in-game economy.

2 The developer has added a strange-feeling hit detection and hit boxes that feel unfair; Furries can spawn and teleport very close to you, making it easy to run into them and die an unfair death. The levels should be like Megaman, where you can see the hazards before you run into them, even if you are moving forward, making Megaman not feel cheap. The art could also use more visual feedback for taking hits. The game also has no game over victory screen when you beat the final boss yet.

To conclude, Super Dapper Man vs. the Furries is also for sale on itch.io and Steam. The game is simple but feels like a fun little flash game you can play with and beat easily. Its compatibility and simplicity are its biggest pros, its biggest cons are a lack of features, the feel of the hitboxes, and how cheap the spawning of monsters can feel.

Do I recommend you get this game? Since it is cheap, 0.99 dollars USD and 1.29 CAD, if you are looking for a fun short waste of time that is funny and full of references to Mr. Dappertons YouTube personality, that is what makes this game stand out. The installs content is lots of audio files of the protagonist's voice, so fans of the YouTuber will like this aspect of the series. If you want to play a cheap game for a bit, it's fine, but it's not worth lots of money. If you want a cheap flash-like experience with interesting platforming, this gameplay is simple and fun, but I suggest getting it if the price is cheap for you or it's on sale in your currency. I suggest you buy if you want a simple fun platormer.

ArcaniA Gothic 4 Review.

ArcaniA Gothic 4 is a action RPG build on the grave of the gothic series. Pros and cons

1 The combat ArcaniA Gothic 4 has decent combat the game has some good difficulty to it the melee combat feels good, the ranged combat feels good and the magic while being overpowered feels good. While you can simply beat the game by just spamming magic like you can in fable… the archery and melee combat has a nice feel to it. The game has a few good hours of content but you will spend lots of it grinding and running around.

2 The port of the game is not very good you may want to consider the console PS3 and xbox 360 ports as they are less likely to crash however the PC port has the best visuals. The game will not run unless you force you PC to run it in DVD level audio quality not a defualt setting on most PCs the game can crash often and you may need to turn of shadows and stuff like that to fix it.

3 The sound quality and audio of the game is quite good I liked the soundtrack and felt it was above average and lots of effort was put into it. The game sounds nice on surround sound and was made well for that. The graphics look average for the era, they do bug out often and some texture can turn all black the game does not look very good overall.

4 The RPG elements in the game, the game is one of those classic RPGs where it was less about choices and more role playing as the MC. You can turn on the option to sit down wash your face to cook to sharpen your sword etc but when it comes to your choices, your choices don’t matter much, you can pick some weapon’s change your relationships in a few story events adding a little replay value but overall I don’t suggest this game if you really care about your choices mattering to the story.

5 It has to be said as a fan of the gothic series this game is disgraceful to the series. It is not as bad of a game as I think most people see it as but it would be like getting the IP to a racing game famous for it choices in racing games and how you could rebuild your cars and customize and all that but then taking away all of that and making fans of that franchise have to play with premade cars. In turn gothic 4 has taken out many core elements of classic gothic RPG games and made the game a more dumbed down action RPG more action than RPG while it may have been disgraceful to the gothic franchise I think if this game was published under a different name with no connection to gothic it would have been liked far more.

6 The game has a very nice UI its PC port settings are nice, the inventory system is much better than ones in fable 2 and 3 it also has many collectables that are fun and worthwhile to collect (you only need 30 or so not hundreds) but its other flaws are that there is too much walking, you walk too slow and unless you span the sprint ruin this game will be much harder to play. The game could have benefited more from respawning enemies when you kill a monster on this game they stay dead and only respawn after quests a limited number of times. I think the game should have had more monsters spawning, more difficult crafting to do, you need to run faster, and the game would have been a better experience.

To Conclude, gothic 4 Arcanina has fun combat, a good soundtrack, the PC settings are really nice, the inventory system is really good, it has lots of content, and collectables however it is a disgrace to the gothic series, the game does not run very well and can crash, it has issues even starting unless you force your sound quality to DVD level, it has too much walking, the RPG mechanics need work, the NPCs are really bad looking they act weird but it is kind of funny how stupid they are, the game feels a little under cooked, it looks decent but the textures turn black sometimes. To sum up it’s a mixed bag.

Do I recommend you get this game? Yes, but only on sale if you like action RPGS and you can accept an average game, this is also on xbox 360 and you can beat acanina gothic 4 and import your save to the game ArcaniA: Fall of Setarrif. The game is not a great game but it is a good game if you like action RPGs. I suggest this mainly for the combat.

Tales of Berseria Review.
As I have over 175 hours in tales of Berseria there is much I can tell you about this action RPG. The games theme is passion VS reason, it in the second newest game in the tales series (at the time of writing).

The good,

1. The combat is the best part of this game. As you progress in the action RPG and experiment with the various combat mechanics and pick up and play the game it will feel sound in its game mechanics but at the same time it will play like a good fighting game with great RPG elements. There is TONS of content to do in this game with lots to grind, lots to level up and a new game plus mode that can make the game easier or harder. There are multiple difficulties, simple, normal, hard, intense and chaos. The gameplay has a really, really good inventory system. The game is very very fun and pick up and play it has tons of great content, great mechanics that will be slowly introduced to keep the game exciting and a great RPG system.

2. The games graphics are very good and the game looks very beautiful and runs very well on PCs. There is Reshade mod you can get to give the graphics a nice touch up but the game looks just fine without it. The game has better than average sound settings and a great soundtrack, great voice acting, English and Japanese voices. The game has good graphics settings and runs very well, I do not have an excellent PC but the game runs fine on mid settings for me despite my older graphics card.

3. The games story is VERY good, at first I was quite disappointed that it was not a choices matter RPG, however the story of the game is very very good and it will be very compelling for you to finish the story and see what every character in your party will do. Every character in your party is well written and interesting. In most RPGs, there is a character like Zaalbar from KOTOR, or Jacob from mass effect 2 who are very poorly written and boring to the plot and do not have much to add to the story. In tales of berseria none of the character stories were as disappointing as a typical RPG. Many of the side character's were very exciting and the story is around the quality as a great anime.

The bad,
Only a few issues here, you move a bit slow, until you get the geo board, you don't really make choices in this RPG like you would in other RPGs, the game has a slow start.

Do I recommend you get this game? YES tales of berseria is a great game and after trying this as my first tales game I am now a big fan of the tales series. I used to really like the mass effect series but after the awful ending of mass effect 3, and how bad Andromeda was I have been looking for a good RPG to replace that and the game I have found as compelling as I found mass effect to be was tales of berseria.

Sacred Sword Princess (SSP) Review.

Sacred sword princess is a free to play hentai game that is ported from the nutaku version. A mobile version of SSP can be found on nutaku as well and an safe for work google play port of SSP will someday be ported to mobile.

The good,

1) The game is free to play, the game is not merely a symbol manipulation game like cookie clicker or turn based RPGs like most final fantasy games. There is skill based combat in SSP where you do control your character with your mouse you can also use a controller, you can have the game auto play for you making the game seem very casual however you can have full control over the game movement and you will preform much better manually controlling the girls than only playing on auto. The game is mainly a numbers game, most of the time the girl with the higher number wins but some of the time different builds for example graces life steal, Ortys SP regen, ranged characters dodging melee attacks etc, can beat higher ranked builds, and some skill in modes like raids, tower of trials, event missions make this more than a pure numbers game however a low rank girl will have no chance of beating a much higher ranked girl so some RNG, and numbers get in the way of this being a skill based action RPG.

2) The story of this game is alright, having played the better nutaku port that already has more content I can tell what will be in the story in advance and it’s a decent porn game story, the English isn’t perfect it could be improved but I can at least understand what they are saying, the devs should consider adding workshop language support to improve the translations. But this is a porn game and as John Carmack once said "Story in a game is like a story in a porn movie. It's expected to be there, but it's not that important." How good is the hentai? I would say its decent, they are not animated much, it looks alright, not as good as the content in nutakus other game Kamihime PROJECT, but I found the gameplay in that game not as much fun as the gameplay in SSP.

3) The soundtrack, and art is decent, could have been better could have been much worse, some music themes loop way too much, the game runs in unity so the 3D aspects of it look like unity stuff with above average textures, the live 2D stuff looks really good, it could have been used better as it hardly stands out but its much better than flat 2D animations.

4) The games multiplayer is fun you can create or join a league, have friends assist you in missions, and host and join raids where 4 people can play in a live raid match. It’s fun to do raids with other people as girls can use support skills. Raids are the most unstable part of the game and you will have a the most issues with this part of the game but fortunately you can do raids solo if you can beat the raid boss on your own or with the help of NPCs/bots. The game has better mechanics than most games do on the market and if you used to play other free to play games but got sick of them or ran out of content you might really like SSP over more basic free to play games.

The bad,

5) The port quality, if you have ever played SSP on nutaku and are wondering if you would want to play the steam port of SSP, things to point out, all your data on your account from the nutaku version is only on the nutaku port, this is a new server of SSP much behind the nutaku version with fewer players, the game crashes MUCH more than the nutaku version, thankfully the crashes wont break your game but in a competitive game like SSP where devs give out gems to players when they patch the game and do maintenance, this port crashing so much on multiple different computers and people who had the nutaku version crashing rarely, so this port is simply terrible. If your competitive and you want to get an early start and you don’t mind a few crashes ever hour it won’t bother you but if you hate when games crash and you don’t want to mess around with buggy ports, get the nutaku version or just wait a while until they get the port to crash 1/10 times as often as it does now like the game should run. The port NEEDS to be improved. EDIT ( the game has been out for quite a while and the port still needs work. I will update when SSP is more playable than it is now.)

6) The gatcha’s, the microtransaction’s, the prices, the drop rates are all flawed and could be improved, you can play the game without spending any real money, I never spent a dime when I played the nutaku version, and I was able to be one of the top 1000 players however this steam ports prices are worse than the nutaku games prices. The nutaku version used nutaku gold and buying some of that was much cheaper than the high USD only prices. Why do they not have other currency? The developers must not understand western markets very well if 6000 gems are worth 40 USD, the nutaku gold price was much much lower for a 6000 gem roll. The game will take lots of time to catch up to people who spend money to rank up (whales) but in a game like this you can. In the trade off between time, money or skill, the game values money the most, then time then skill. At least the game does value skill and if you understand the games mechanics and commit enough time you can beat every challenge without spending money. The drop rates in the game should be more generous, there should be some gem gatchas where you have a low chance to get any item. You can earn many gems without spending money fortunately.

To Conclude, SSP has some real flaws, the microtransaction’s, the game is about having the bigger numbers, the poor drop rates, the port right now is really bad, the developers need to do the prices better like the better nutaku version, I think the game is alright and having played the nutaku version I am sure the game will get better prices and better performance. If this game sounds like fun to you you can play it despite the flaws or just play the best version of the game. If the steam port allows you to invite people to join your game though the steam client and adds more steam features like workshop support, in a few months the steam version could be better than the nutaku port.

Do I recommend you get this game? Yes its free so nothing lost trying it out, but you could become addicted to the microtransaction’s if you don’t have a strong will power. I don’t suggest you buy the microtransaction’s, you don’t need to.

quick review

TLDR buy it if you want to hop into blood and help them patch the game but dont buy it yet, it has many great features of a blood port that no other blood port has like 8 player local multiplayer and people being able to join games mid match. its worth it to pick up and try it out but play blood GDX for single player games, and play dos blood for online matches on meltdown until the port is finished.

this game is fun it is a decent port of blood, it has more options than blood GDX but it has many many bugs, it is easiest to setup and start playing but it is not as authentic as dos blood is. the online multiplayer was very fun in coop, i was able to complete the first episode with only a few bugs no game breaking bugs, but occasional crashes. the fact that the game has 8 player local multiplayer is a wonderful and amazing feature that no other blood port has. the online multiplayer is very good and feels like megaton but people can join matches mid game. when you setup a online multiplayer game coop blood bath or capture the flag you can wait in a lobby until the game starts but if you decide to start the match before anyone joins it will give you a very unfair advantage where your able to start sooner and get the items on the map first. online multiplayer needs more options like being able to have private games and limit the player counts. if players can join any game mid game and that is a nice feature but it has problems at times. the game looks very nice it has some texture issues and after much patching it will look better and have more features than blood GDX but it is better than other ports in some ways. People who bought the dos steam port of blood got a 50% off discount for fresh supply and i was happy to get that discount. i would wait until the game has many more patches and they add missing features and make the game feel less floaty and feel harder like the original blood was.
