Ironically i have no problems with optimalization of the game, but it feels like the worst game by FromSoft in a long time.
Maybe my view of the game will change in the future if i ever finish it, but as of now its the only game by them that i have dropped. Feels ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ bad considering how hyped i was for it.

Really fun darksouls-esque game. The artstyle and graphics are pant-♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ amazing. Like holy ♥♥♥♥ its baffling to me how pretty a 2D game can be when drawn properly, and with a cohesive artstyle. The music is also really good. Nothing really special, but it sets the mood perfectly, and each area theme fits it really well. While we're on the topic of sound, the sound design is also pristine. From bosses and enemies, through weapons and spells, to the world surrounding you, the game is pure joy to listen to. Most of the areas are really well planned out, and have a unique theme to them. The game also has a really good progression system, and its really well planned out to help you progress through the world, and that is really ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ important in metroidvania type games. Just as soon as you get used to most of the mechanics you know, the game throws a dash, or a wall jump at you. The progression is also directly connected to one of the highlights of the game for me - the movement. The game is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ perfect in this regard. Its fast, its fluid, its modifiable and customizable and its really easy to get into. I mean it better be ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ good since combat is 90% the movement itself. There are no advanced combos, and i found the weapon arts to be plainly ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ useless, but the depth of having to dodge an enemy in a specific way, or going through bullethell from an enemy requires you to master the movement so you can finally get a clean strike on the enemy. The other highlight of the game for me are the bosses, and i dont mean just the physical enemies, beacuse some areas feel just like fighting a boss (*akhem* *akhem* white palace *akhem* *akhem* path of pain). Im gonna repeat these words, but the bosses themselves are designed fantastically. Take Mantis Lords as an example, just as you get used to being able to dodge through attacks from one of them, the game throws the remaining 2 at you so you have to also learn how to juggle 2 of them at once. Other great example is Grimm, at this point in the game you're ripped as ♥♥♥♥, and the challenge is still there. It took me 2 hours to beat Nightmare Grimm, even though i had the movement and combat system on a decently high level, and of course it wasnt beacuse the boss itself was ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ or anything, its just that its moveset was carefully planned out, so you couldnt just tank through his hits, and hat to actually focus and dodge his attacks correctly. Again bosses - ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ perfect, and its working beacuse the movement system is correctly tied to the combat loop. The story itself is okay, though i found it a bit ripoffy from dark souls, with the Knight being hollow just like Choosen Undead (quite literally they're both hollow), Pale King and Hollow Knight being kind of like Gwyn, and watchers being Lords. Im not saying the story is bad, but its insipration is rather obvious. Ive played through the game twice, and the only thing i couldnt bring myself to do is to even attempt Godseeker, so im not gonna judge that, but everything else is fantastic and i highly ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ recommend this game to anyone.

Really ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ good, and really ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ challenging. The music is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ top notch, the visuals are great despite the fact that i hate pixelart graphics, the character feels fluid and natural to control. I tried playing the game without the slow-mo at all, and first playthrough was pretty challenging, but when i unlocked speedrun/hard mode, things got ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hard really quickly. I mean insanely hard, to the point where you have to strategically decide who to kill first, and how to procede without getting obliterated by 10000 shieldsmen alongside with machinegunners (♥♥♥♥ THEM BTW). Bosses are especially good on hardmode.
Especially the last one. The only problem i have with it, is that there is a fast way (which is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ nearly impossible to do, if you're an old rusted husk like me) and the safe way which is much much slower but way easier. I still have a bunch of things i need to do, like all the weapons in the government lab and the psychiatrist bossfight , but other than that, the game is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ great as i already said. The only problem i have with it, is that its rather short, but apparently theres a free DLC announced so i guess even that is kinda a nitpick.

its aight but there a ton of better games out there. it runs off of gimmicks sometimes, and its rather incosistent with them. the speed/manuverability is the greatest strength and the biggest downfall of the game, beacuse as much as its fun to jump around with perfect air control, it gives you basically infinite possibilites to dodge. i started the game on the middle difficulty, then moved on to Cero Mierdo or whatever it was called cuz it was way too ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ easy, and even then i only died like at best 10 times in the whole campaign, and quite often to things i simply didnt understand, i. e. i didnt run out of the cathedral from the tornado, or i thought it was end of the level when you have to fight son of the toxigator and the twins so i pressed the button and went to take a piss and came back to 'you ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ died' screen. the gameplay itself is fun but as i also said rather easy beacuse of how much control you have over your character. i also found that some of the weapons are rather pointless? like dual pistols or ssg for example. why not make the dual wielded shotguns ssg instead and make you switch between 1 shotgun and 2 shotguns. double pistols also just increase the RoF, while the dmg remains the same and its only useful to clean out strugllers (and even then you can do that with melee), beacuse if you want to output actual dmg you need to use the AR. im also kinda dissapointed that there is no comboing, but thats not really a valid criticism, i just got used to it from Doom/DE. Soundtrack is pretty good but i dont really think any particular track stuck with me, or wanted me to search for it on youtube, with that being said i still think its good, it fits the game well and compliments what happens on the screen (i propably listen to too much metal, heavy rock). strong element of the entire game is propably the enemy designs, not the enemies themselves though. some of them are actually pretty frustrating, and i bet its gonna be pain in my ass when ill attempt Duskmare to get past them, the mini mama rocket ladies for example, or the floating orbs that emit skulls, or the invisible ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ tanky pieces of ♥♥♥♥ wendigos. the levels are pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ cramped and i dont really know if i like them. like on one hand theyre great thematically, but when it comes to gameplay i feel so restricted beacuse i feel like the speed i have is inversely proportional to the open-ness of the levels the further you go. i also think that the bosses are rather lacking but hey, this is an fps game so i never had any expectations for those whatsoever. the powerups are also rather dissapointing, and besides the rapid fire one i wasnt really happy to see any of them, climbing gear wasnt really a powerup and rather just a method of being able to traverse the map, and the super hot stop time thingy felt rather unnatural to use, like i expected my character to do the animation of reloading or switching weapon but i had to move to do that, id be fine if it meant that the time is moving but my character can perform an action without having to go like 5 meters to right or left. the game is really well optimized and it never once stuttered on me, and the customization options for graphic settings are fantastic, although for my monitor on which i actually like to use vibrant colors it felt weird in some areas, like i quite literally couldnt see beacuse of the colors. while on the topic of not being able to see ♥♥♥♥, ♥♥♥♥ the areas where it was pitch black dark and the flashlight broke. it wasnt scary or anything, just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ annoying. overall besides some rough elements to the game it was still actually rather enjoyable to play, i still have to try out the endless mode and the multiplayer, and ill most likely beat the game on duskmare beacuse im a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ masochist, and ill see if anything changes after that. as i said though, so far a solid game, but nothing worthy to cream your pants about
