This game is everything I wanted D3 to be and more. The fact that the very currency, the Orbs, come in many types, with many uses beyond that of money is amazing and it leaves you questioning if you should try your luck using them on your items or trading them with other players. In PoE, instead of having a fixed set of skills for each class, you find skill gems as you adventure and quest, allowing you to modify your playstyle as you level and to create your own combination of gems. For example: link a primary attack gem that allows you to throw an arc of knives with two support gems: one that increases the number of projectiles while decreasing their damage and another that adds a pushback effect and you'll have an interesting (and questionable) crowd control skill. And there are hundreds of possible combinations. The passive skilltree is colossal, allowing you to truly be whatever you want, no matter your starting class. Want to be a magic-using Shadow? Easy. Strongest, most muscular Witch in the land? No biggie. And the best thing about Path of Exile is that it is TRULY free. The only thing you can buy with money are visual effects, like skill colors and sweet armor skins, so it isn't one of those "free to play, pay to win" games, on the contrary: this game can be a great test of skill at times. There are so many more features to list (like events and play modes) that you should probably just go check them for yourself! Install it!
