One of the games of all time but it's kind of absurd that for several years now, it is the norm to experience in a "Good Game" of tf2, kicking a few bots, while in the average one having bots join every 2 minutes. (That's not an overstatement btw)

To my knowledge at least the only things Valve have done to fix the bot issue are:
> Allow both teams to kick at the same time, doubling the speed of kicking bots when they join both teams.
> Mute non premium accounts to stop them spamming slurs.

The first of which was a good change, small but helped a lot.

The second of which did not prevent bots from ruining your game at all, just made them less obvious the moment they join, except all the bots are still talking in game without restrictions, so the whole thing was pointless, this means unless you get a premium account, you as a free to play cant talk at all, including the "MEDIC!" callout, which is kind of essential to playing the game. The new player experience is being completely mute then being headshot by 6 bots across the map and/or being vote kicked because you can't tell people you aren't a bot and the actual bot just started a vote to kick you.
