Dark Souls is about beauty, not about difficulty.
The difficulty is a by product of the experience demanding that you respect it.

Some people enjoy the rage, look deep into the mechanics and love the community; these are all wonderful parts of the metagame. But the true captivation of Dark Souls is in its beauty.

Play this game. Force yourself to respect it.
Admire it, take in the way that every single entity flows around you as a story that you are forced to search for brings you to the realization of the desolated history you are facing; every step a part of a greater story.

Play this game expecting a fun little RPG, and you'll wind up in the category of players that quit because "it's a good game but it's too hard."

Dark Souls is not hard. Dark Souls is beautiful. And any true beauty must be earned to behold.
