The only review you need to read.
The reason i'm writing this review is unbridled excitement about the announcement of Risk of Rain 2, I shed a tear.
Devs, where do I pre-order?

PROS
-Pixel-esque, very stylized
-Longevity
-Soundtrack
-Playstyles infinite
-Immersive
-Story, although minimal and vague, very fulfilling
-Big damage numbers
-When the boss gets one shot
-The death messages
-The community, seriously the fanart is phenomenal
-So many secrets
-Hundreds of speedy little enemies with each their own FX going off as they endlessly flood in after you, while you with your hundreds of items, each with their own FX and uses going off as you drop half of them with one ability and damage numbers off the screen and every step you take, going a million miles per hour flying through the air, here comes 100 more and what the hell is that i've never seen that enemy wow I didn't know I could even take damage anymore why is it not dying quick use everything I have, oh ok I got it nice oh ok here comes 10 more love it, im dead. "rekt."

CONS
-Online Multiplayer requires port forwarding and a strong connection
-Lag/delay can be detrimental to survivability
-Friendships will be tested
-Performance on highest quality can get pretty demanding, it gets crazy
-The sinking feeling of finishing a run, like finishing a book, or a dog dying in a movie

Oh Risk of Rain, the first game I ever bought myself on steam, the first game I ever hit 100 hours in, the first game I ever bought the soundtrack of...

This is by far my favorite game on steam
I have broken this game many times with 5 hours sessions
I have unlocked every possible item, secret, ending, character...
I have done everything there is to do in this unforgiving game

And I ALWAYS come back.

The characters are unique in every way, the designs match the playstyles and their skills, and there is a character for everyone. Each level is randomly generated to an extent, although many variables, I do come across the same layout now and then, when i've broken the game and become it's God. However, the longer you go on you will find that the memorization of that map must be instinct, you need to know where you are at all times.

They do not lie when they say every playthrough is different, with hundreds of items you can pick up and variants of every enemy you face, each character and their different perks... they do not lie, EVERY game is different.

If you've read this far, you may as well buy it, and then buy it for your friends.
