Pretty good.

I was a bit skeptic about it, but it turned out to be quite fun.
The light mechanic is actually very well executed. I was pleasantly surprised.

Not as great as Portal, but Portal is the metric for comparison for a reason, and that's that it's arguably one of, if not the best puzzle platformer ever made. Just mentioning this since so many other reviews draw some sort of comparison to it.

Lightmatter stands on it's own merit. The puzzles are mostly at the sweet spot between not being too easy, but also not being mind bending or tediously harsh. There were a few that made me really use my head, but I didn't once need to look anything up (except to finish off achievements) and for the most part I'd say even the hardest levels can be dealt with some trial and error.

I can easily recommend this, although maybe not at full price. I say grab it on a sale, if you enjoy puzzle games like Portal.

Great little game.
Fantastic sound and musical experience.
I spent over 5 minutes playing the piano at the start and I knew I was in for something special, and it completely delivered.
It's short, but that's literally in the title, so fair enough, and it's free, so there's no reason not to give it a go.
Turn up your speakers or headphones, it's totally worth it.

Sable is a very good game and I loved it, but more on that in a bit.

This was my second gliding, the first having been when Epic gave away this title on their storefront, and more recently I decided to buy it for my Steam library, so that might give you an idea of what I though it was worth.

But let me get a couple of annoyances out of the way first:

To say that it is unpolished is an understatement, as "almost-game-breaking-bugs" do exist, that fortunately can be resolved by reloading the game, but you might need to do this a handful of times over a playthrough, so it cannot be swept under the rug,
It's nothing major, it's basically interaction prompts becoming invisible, while still being functional, and some vendors' "for sale" tab actually being empty, thus forcing you to reload to be able to access the stuff you want to buy. This happened to me a couple of times each playthrough.

I must emphasize however, that I never lost any progress, if (when) you need to reload, you just save/quit to main menu and load back in exactly where you are and with everything working normally again.

Other than that, to say that the game is poorly optimized is also quite the understatement. No matter how powerful the gaming machine, it will still feel sketchy once in a while, with stuttering sound and choppy frames here and there.
On my first playhtough, I was on a GTX 1060 and played at 60 fps, accepting the choppiness in certain areas and just lived with it. This time I was on an RTX 3060 Ti, and it's still all the same; I always knew it wasn't the hardware's fault, but this was a bit disappointing, so I ended up trying 30 fps, and while it still isn't flawless, it is much smoother, and I believe, how the game is meant to be experienced anyway., given all the other animations, plus you really don't notice after the fist 5 seconds anyway.

Finally, the controls could arguably be better but I'm not gonna dwell on that, because it was never really a problem.

With all that said, I still highly recommend the game, as it is a wonderful little adventure, the exploration feels great and the story is good enough to keep you interested and feel immersed,

I personally love the aesthetic, the art style is quite unique in a world full of copy-pasted assets from game engine stores where every game looks exactly like the next because of this.

I'm also going to lightly praise the sound and music, as I loved Simoon's voice and how it changes depending on what parts you're using, yet I believe it may be one of the culprits of this game choppiness, as it feels rendered on the spot instead of using pre recorded stuff. which would definitively be more demanding. I don't really know, but the end result sounds awesome.

All in all, I've now played through this rough gem twice, both times taking about the same; over 30h each to 100%, although I didn't spend nearly as much time just wandering and exploring this time around, yet I'd still find myself climbing a pointless hill just for the view, or riding the dunes just for fun.

The game does feel unfinished, unpolished, unoptimized, and I wish the devs would grace their creation with some updades and patches, but it doesn't seem like that's ever going to happen, which is a shame, but I ultimately think it's not that bad and still worth your while.

Lastly, ignore the snowflake bomb reviews, it doesn't matter who was or wasn't involved, what matters is the game is fun.
At the end of the day, it's a good game, and that's all we really want.

How the mighty have fallen.
I really wanted to like this game. But I just can't.

The art style is an interesting twist, but the actual gameplay is garbage.

The handling is utter trash, and the collision system makes me want to throw up.

Car customization didn't seem like the worst I've seen in an NFS title so far, but then it was just visuals, no performance upgrades?? Maybe it unlocks further into the game?

Maybe I didn't play long enough, but I mean, if the game not only failed to hook me in the first couple of hours and instead just kept feeling more and more disgusting, then I don't think I can take the blame.

I know; I know that if I kept at it, I'd get more used to the controls and what not, but no, I was simply not having fun, so no. This coming from someone who managed to finish NFS Payback. Damn, Payback in comparison was (almost) good.

I never have any hopes or expectations for an NFS title nowadays, but this one impressed me on how bad it was.

And again, I really wanted to like it, based on how it's still being developed by Criterion, and I really thought the art style was kinda cool.

But forget it. If you're looking for a solid (arcade) racing game, just go with Forza Horizon. Thank the gods that Microsoft/xbox stepped in when NFS started dropping the ball and Midnight Club just gave up.

RIP NFS

TL;NGR (Too long, not gonna read xD):
What other people have been saying is true. This version is so broken, it's ridiculous. Save your money and your mind, because it will drive you mad.

--------------------------------------------------------------

I spent many hours TRYING to troubleshoot (to no success), now I even have over 2 hours of game open while I haven't actually played, it was all just waiting for the load screen and testing for a couple minutes, so now I can't even refund... I'm so disappointed...

For more context; the first time I played this game (on release, back in 2008) it worked fine, the game was "heavy" for the time, but I still managed to run it on that now old and outdated machine, since it was also relatively high spec.

I enjoyed the game so much I later bought it for the Xbox 360, to replay it and the DLCs that weren't previously available. Great time once more, the game itself is very good.

Now for this version, I thought I'd get it here on Steam, for nostalgia sake and to replay it all once more...
But nope, it doesn't seem to want to happen. I've tried many many things, and while the game will run, it is not to my satisfation, most people here have simply accepted the stuttering, but I can't, it's nauseous. It's ridiculous. It's simply put, broken. "Out of the box" the experience is horrible. After hours of tweaks and fixes, I "think" (?) it got a little bit better, but it could've been just me not being able to tell the difference any more.

The worst part is, I purposely avoided buying the game here before, because I HAD BEEN WARNED, by other reviewers, that this version was hot garbage. But after seeing it on sale so many times over the years, I finally thought "Heck, I've done this kind of thing before, sure, I might have to modify some files here, tweaks some settings over there, maybe even mod it a bit if necessary... I'll make it work..." Oh, I had no idea how bad it was... I've given up for now, I might try again in the future, but for now I'm exausted, and if I really want to kill some nostalgia I can just boot up the ol' 360 where it runs perfectly fine.

If you enjoy the stealth genre at all, this latest Hitman trilogy is a must, coming close to a masterpiece I'd say, but not quite. It still a solid 9/10 or something if that helps to paint the picture.

The reasons it's not perfect are few; there are very minor and inconsequential glitches or bugs that you may or may not come across in you're playthrough, but I guess that given enough time, you probably will, and this is where I have to mention the reason you can spend hundreds of hours here is that this is by far the game with the most replayability I've ever experienced. There's no one single way of doing anything. No main path, just main targets. Every mission is a sandbox, you can mess with every single NPC, amd you can disguise as most of them. You can be a shadow or you can massacre everybody. There are multiple developing storylines depending on your actions, and targets can be killed a dozen different ways each. It's a hoot and then some.
And even then, the story missions are just the beginning; the challenges, the escalations, the contracts, the extra missions that although take place in the same locations, transform the levels to a degree where they feel like they could be years apart, and they're better for it this way rather than having been done in whole new locations; it gives it all a little magic thanks to that sense of familiarity with the levels, even though so much is different. I love it. I love it all.

Also worth mentioning, the sound design is excellent, the voice acting brilliant, the score and soundtrack are exquisite and of the highest quality, bravo.

If you're already a fan, then you know what you're in for; it's the conclusion to this trilogy's story, and I'd say it's pretty well executed, and how the previous titles all come together under one roof is a fantastic feature that other franchises with connecting story arcs should definitely adopt (Tomb Raider would be a good example). That said, while this is how it's at it's best, it must be noted that it comes at the co$t of either already owning those previous titles, or acquiring the legacy levels as DLC in this one, but then I'd also have to give some praise to how it'll recognize if you do own them and simply make it all available here, and allow you to experience those past games seamlessly in the most recent iteration of the engine with the most modern bells and whistles.

As I said earlier, it's not perfect, but I can forgive it's flaws for the whole experience is overall magnificent.
I'll still mention my biggest thumbsdowns though, which are the utterly unnecessary online connection requirement, the elusive targets that are forever lost (although final judgement on this is still ongoing, seeing how some are returning this year, this can be forgiven if they kept returning on a yearly basis), and the overpriced DLCs, particularly in this third installment, At this point in time, I still haven't got the deluxe upgrade or the seven deadly sins, and I'll be sure to exhaust all the other content available (including all the featured contracts) before I even consider buying them, and even then I'll be waiting for a good discount sale. I know one day I'll give in to that, but as of now I'm still boycotting the absurd pricing, considering what little they provide, and how much I've already payed for over the years for all the content and past titles, even beyond this latest trilogy. IOI just had to do us wrong with this last entry, to sour an otherwise near perfect palate, as if the debacle of the Epic exclusivity year hadn't been enough, which I of course also boycotted, only having purchased H3 when it finally released on Steam.

Oh dear, it appears I've ended up rambling a bit, but my venting comes from love, and in the end, I do still love this game overall, so much that I feel the need to objectively point out it's mostly missguided imperfections that would otherwise make it a 10/10.

TL;DR: 47 out of 50 ;)

This is the idle game you're looking for.

Seriously, I've always enjoyed the genre, and for a long time I've been trying a bunch of different ones, all the most famous and critically acclaimed ones, anything that would seem interesting at all and there are a few different ones out there that manage to think out of the box a bit - shout out to Idle Spiral, the last one I actually found innovative in any way - but, as expected, they all eventually lost me for some reason or another.

This one though, even though at the time of writing I've essentially just got started, I can tell. I've tried so much stuff and have seen so much, good and bad, I now know what I want and what makes a good idle game. This hits the sweetspot. Most of the usual mechanics can be found here, but they're all very well executed, nothing is over or underwhelming, everything feels fairly balanced and enjoyable, and I can tell I'm going to stick with this one for the long run, and I'll come back to edit this review some time later to either confirm or refute this, but until then, I'm giving it a strong recommend.

Early Access Review
First day: I drowned, suffocated, got bit, got eaten, caught fire, got crushed by pressure, was shot, and succumbed to radiation poisoning…
Figured out some stuff.

Second day on the job (and still noobing af) I was the captain of a crew that consisted of a friend on discord and a few random people online. Absolutely loved it, much more than I initially thought I would. Some of them would voice chat, others would text, some would roleplay, others would go meta or simply have fun. Everybody more or less knew what they were doing, except me. I don’t think they fully realized their captain was such a newbie, but to be fair I mostly just piloted the sub and shouted orders through the radio while chaos ensued. We did ok. I’m proud of my crew, good lads.

Really want to emphasize how much more fun this was than what I imagined before playing or even during the first couple of hours while I attempted to grasp the mechanics.

8/10 would recommend as I look forward to seeing how I die tomorrow.

As a fan of Fallout, I pre-ordered (never again), then played at launch for a month or so... Went away, then gave it another chance around the Wastelanders update and have been playing fairly regularly since then.
While the game is far from what it should be, it's not half as bad as some people might think, and even though there are some quirks to it, I still find it very enjoyable, specially if you like the Fallout lore.

It's exclusively multiplayer, but you can go at it mostly alone, which is cool, for me Fallout was always about that feeling of you alone vs the wasteland, but teaming up is nicely done and the comunity is top shelf, I never felt toxicity, mostly just radiation (ba-dum-tss).

So if you're on the fence, maybe you like Fallout's previous titles but are turned off by all the bad press the game got at launch, nowadays I feel I can finally recommend it, with an asterisk; give it a try, but just get the game, DO NOT pay for the stupid subscription option, you don't need it, there's no locked content, and what little benefits it brings are negligible at best and absolutely not worth it. It's just a shameful cashgrab that you can easily ignore, and for that matter, don't buy atoms either, they're overpriced and you can earn lots in game without spending a dime.

Yes you will still find bugs, imo, nothing game breaking. Immersion breaking, sometimes, yes, but after all the fun tips the scales back.

Oh, and the story, did I mention I like the lore? ;)

TL;DR: Give it a shot, you might not hate it after all.

A virtual pot, where you plant virtual seeds that you can BUY for IRL money... for more expensive than IRL seeds, and ... then there's nothing more to it. Nope, nothing, nada, check it out but I'm not wasting a single cent here =p
