There are few games I would put at the same level of quality as Nine Sols. Outside of the true ending boss, no fight ever felt like a dramatic spike in difficulty, rather a constant curve that ramped up near the end. The story is expertly told, it made me want to explore the world and get the lore. The music is phenomenal. The combat is the tightest I've seen from a parry-style game.

I will say though, although the difficulty is a smooth curve, that's not meant to mean it's easy. It's easily one of the toughest games I've played. But it's a "tough but fair" mindset. My only gripe was the final phase true final boss, it felt a bit exhausting. But overall, this game is worth every penny, and I look forward to hearing about any future DLC plans.

Personally I find the actual storyline and writing to be a bit of a downgrade compared to the previous expansions. The combat, dungeons, etc. are much better, but the pacing of the Main Scenario Quests pads this out far too far apart. I think the formula for expansions is in a drastic need of an overhaul, as they've been formulaic for a few expansions now and it's easy to tell when things are coming, it's impossible to be really surprised.

Whatever anyone tells you, not only is this game not skippable, but the actual gameplay itself is an absolute banger. It's definitely different than the first few games, but the roster of characters combined with the interaction between them all really feels like a wonderful capstone to the majority of stories in the first couple of games.

Whether unintentionally or not, the game also does set up the B-Plot of the next game, Trails from Zero. Without this game, there's going to be confusion. Highly recommend as well as Kevin is one of the best protagonists for the series!

The building system in Enshrouded is so satisfying that it's actually encouraged me to care about building my base. The chill music that plays as you build gives such an atmospheric vibe, and the visual style of the game just leads itself to be genuinely enjoyable to watch your creation come to life.

Combat is fun, perhaps a bit too easy for some players, but I prefer the style here. This game has vast potential, and I'm excited to see what comes next.

There currently is no native controller support, nor proper Steam Deck support, which is unfortunately the minimum viable product in my eyes.

I like the art style, but not being able to reliably play the game in the way I would like (Steam Deck) leaves me having to not recommend the game until this is implemented. Additionally, releasing the game without having character customisation was a weird choice, particularly in this style of game.

Performance is far too bad to recommend in it's current state. The game regularly dips and stutters in cutscenes, and I'm unable to get the game to operate at 60FPS despite being able to run significantly more graphically intense games perfectly fine.

If they update and fix the performance, it'll be a home run. Right now, it's too unoptimized.

The game had lots of potential, but the ending was horrible.

The runes you get also do not auto-translate the stones, meaning for every one of them you'd have to manually cross-reference and translate.

Coming off more recent games, Shadow of the Tomb Raider occasionally had me feeling more railroaded in to solving a challenging climb in a specific way much more than I would have liked. That being said, it's a fairly good story, far more gripping than the last game (which, honestly, I couldn't remember much of other than 'takes place in snow').

If it's on a discount, it's worth picking up. The bonus tombs are really well made, but I felt the whole game wore out it's welcome on me with just a few tombs left (4 to be exact).

Never have I gone through so much effort to research and digest as much information as I could on a game desperately waiting to get it. This game is so polished and perfect that there's virtually no reason to play Harvest Moon anymore!

This game has among some of the most interesting combat I've seen in an ARPG, and whilst the story is a little hard to follow at first, and the game is really difficult to begin with, it gets way better!
