I had heard about Stray but had purposely avoided any media about it since I wanted to play it blind.

It's a pretty short game, I completed it in about 8 hours, I tried to all side stuff and exploring as much as possible in that playthrough. Considering there is an achievement for a sub 2 hours playthrough I thinks its clear I was pretty slow :)

Don't think this is some sort of cat sim, it is not.

The game is charming and I find the story is interesting and at a few points heart wrenching.

The cat noises and animations are on point <3, at some point I could almost smell the cat food cat breath due to immersion. I think the environments and robot designs are great.

I really had no idea what to expect when I started playing this and I wasn't disappointed at all.

A truly great game.

A friend of mine recommended the game to me quite some time ago and I finally took the time to play through it. While it's not for everyone I think that almost anyone can pick up and play it and appreciate it for what it does.

I'm being very vague on purpose since once you have completed the game it can't really be replayed, and I'm not saying that just because you already know the story from the last play through, again I can't really be more specific without spoiling stuff. There may still be stuff to discover and learn afterwards (depending on how thorough you were), so it's not quite completely pointless to replay it though.

The story is very interesting and thought provoking for multiple reasons, the music is great and surprisingly important to the game and neat looking graphics that fit the game very well.

If you like exploring an interesting world with great music at your own pace, figuring out puzzles and mysteries, I think this is for you.

Easily one of the best vr games at the moment, a must have if you're the least interested in music games.

A fun game to fiddle around in, personally I play with a few qauality of life mods to make it easier to build what you want and how you want. The game is fine without mods, but a few things might get a bit frustrating when it doesn't behave as expected, or more like behave that you wish that it'd behave like.

Love it, there's always something to do, you'll pretty much always feel that something need improving/expanding/moving. You'll constantly be improving the monstrosity you call your factory.
The vanilla game will give you plenty value for your money as there's plenty to do. In the case you're starting to feel bored there's a ton of mods that will complicate and simplify some aspects of your game to make it perfect to you.
The only small downside is the aliens, in the beginning they're scary, but later they'll mostly feel like a nuisance as you're maintaining your walls and turrets. But as I said, mods can make them far more interesting and will keep you on your toes. In case you simply feel to stressed out because of the aliens, you can always turn them off completly or put them on peaceful mode (which means they won't attack unless you attack first).

The game really does capture part of the essence from pen and paper role playing games and I'm not sure what makes me feel that way, perhaps is it because the game doesn't take itself to seriously or if it's the freedom in how I decide to solve the current problem. Most issues you encounter in this game are possible to solve in more ways than one.

I played through this game in about 75 hours in coop with a friend and many laughs were had, some that were part of the game, but many more that were caused by ourselves in some way, usually acting before thinking and ending up in a puddle of blood on the floor.

I think some of my favorite part of the game are the interaction between elements in the world that sometimes can mean the difference between a cake walk and a massive headache, either it will help you greatly or it will screw up your plans completly ending with you in a puddle of blood again.
The other really interesting part is how the main characters interract with each other in dialogs and which dialog option you choose, these can change the characters a great deal, for example if the character is bold or alturistic you will recieve different bonuses (like immunity to fear, or just some stat bonuses when you're close to the party) because your previous conversations define the character as you play. The other part of this is that you don't always have to agree with your friend when you're playing in coop, whether it is because that's how you play your character or if it's genuinly how you feel when making a certain decision, you end up playing a minigame of rock, paper, scissors, the winner gets their will through, and you can make this minigame be in your favor by having a charismatic character.

Another quite interesting thing is that your character is seldomly locked in to be a specific role, (I ended up playing a battlemage tank) the reason for this is that no items are locked to a class, you can without much touble have a mage wielding a two handed axe even though you have no points in two handed weapons (you'd just need enough strength), sure you won't do as much damage as someone who has put points into that, but it's still possible, then only really limiting skills are magic, you need enough point put into a specific category before you can learn some spells/skills. And this can be a bit annoying as there's no way to reset your character for a long time. Somewhere closer to the and you are able to reset your characters stats (all of them), but I partly feel that maybe it would've been better if you could reset at least part of your stats earlier in the game, like just abilities and not attibutes or talents (I haven't been able to find any way to to it earlier anyway).

(TL;DR)
All in all I find this game really enjoyable, though possibly best enjoyed with a friend. Silly situations were had and intriguing characters were met.

I can't wait for Divinity original sin 2

If you like XCOM you'll like this, it it similar to the older XCOM games (or so I've heard). It does not have the, imo, weird abilities like XCOM Enemy Unknown, here it's tactics and decisions that matter. If you round a corner without looking around it you're gonna have a bad time. If you have units in front of your heavy machinegunner and order it to fire, you're gonna have a bad time. Etc.

Jokes aside, it's hard and very enjoyable!

A game that can keep you busy for hours, and there's a big modding community if the original parts aren't enough for you.
The most fun you can have in this is to explore everything by yourself and figure out what and how to do everything.
Trial and error is what you should expect.

But if you're not very patient, I suggest you have a look at some basic tutorials of how to get to orbit and how to visit and land on a moon. That should be enough for you to figure out how to do most of it.

Bottom line, a really fun and great game even if it's unfinished!
