It's Nep-Nep time
After 69 hours of Nep-Nepping I have come to the conclusion that Nep-Nep time is satisfactory

I don't know what I'm doing, but on one of my first missions I requested a bombing run on a bunch of enemies, killing them and also hitting numerous civilians, while some HQ announcer guy was talking about how the EDF protects civilians. I'm now nearing my 100 hour mark, and am still requesting Howitzer strikes and air raids on friendlies.

I love hearing military crusaders yelling at me in Latin and shooting me with 9mm, and me yelling back at them in my own broken Latin and shooting them with a short range electricity minigun while blocking their bullets with a small buckler I made with a plastic cafeteria tray, then getting jumpscared by a clingy lung monster, truly a 12/10 game

You can also eat brains for an XP gain rate bonus, much good

If you deal 69 damage to an enemy the damage number indicator says "69 nice", truly one of the best games of all time.

Gameplay itself (Geometry Dash FPS edition) is also peak and novel.

Truly one of the co-op shooters of all time, with added chaos thanks to highly lethal heavy weapons and fire support, teammates and turrets that couldn't care less if you're in their line of fire, and a locked camera that forces all players to witness each other's tomfoolery.

Now compare this to its sequel, Helldivers II. Helldivers I offers (as of the time of writing):
+ A repair/healing gun
+ Reliable strategems with way faster cooldowns that can be equipped more than once (Behold, four 60s-cooldown railcannon strikes)
+ Cape spinning
+ BAYONETS (!!!)
+ VEHICLES (!!!)
+ Primary weapons that for the most part are actually viable
+ A big holy micro nuclear missile that puts Helldivers II's beloved 500kg bomb to shame
+ Reliable and viable anti-tank options (Did I mention that the recoilless rifle can one-shot almost anything?)
+ Unlimited reinforces and unlimited mission time (Super Earth will get the mission done at any cost)
+ Epic enemy boss fights (with equally epic soundtracks)
+ An objectively more patriotic soundtrack in general (Search up "Helldivers 1 Great Eye soundtrack" if you don't believe me)

The game has granted me near unlimited access to a wide array of lethal and very dangerous high explosive ordnance and weaponry and by Athena I shall make full use of it, squadmates and friendly fire be damned.

...

Helldivers 1 still has larger explosions though

The only BBQ where I could piss on my friends' food then throw knives at them then proceed to piss on their bodies all while feeding salt to a bear while dressed as a firefighter

Truly one of the games of all time

Comparing this to Hell Let Loose, my erstwhile choice for a Battlefield-style game:

- Way easier to see enemies
- Allows you to drag wounded players to safety
- Very small storage space requirement (~2GB)
- Low system requirements
- No 1-class-per-squad limit (full squad of medics, snipers, etc, are a thing)
- Squad leaders are not locked to a separate squad leader class (HLL's biggest problem was people not making squads because they wanted to play a different class)
- You don't have to be in a squad to spawn in (disadvantageous but if that's your preference so be it)
- You can customise each part of your own loadout instead of using preset ones
- Better in terms of new player experience
- Verbal communication isn't as important, but still useful (good for mic-shy players)
- No one-shot headshots except for specific high-damage weapons (subjective but this is a plus in my book)
- A traditional time-to-kill more in line with most FPS titles (i.e no dying to a single LMG bullet to the body at full HP)
- More casual attitude overall
- Responsive and active devs who listen to the community (for now, but let's stay optimistic)

Overall opinion: Battlefield but more casual and made for low-end machines
