I'm looking and reviewing this game based on 2007 gaming standards.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl is an Action game with RPG elements.
The game world consists of an area of the Zone with a total area of 20 square kilometres. The whole is divided into a dozen smaller locations that are filled with bigger or smaller details. Throughout the gameplay we can use a total of around 30 weapons with possibility to make modifications to the weapons (e.g. fitting a silencer or a scope).

In the title itself we have the opportunity to trade with several traders, each with their own unique stock of items not available from others which is a plus, after all what normal bartender would have an HEV suit that is military grade and at such a low price?
Zone is (somehow) living with it's strange fauna, blind dogs, flesh eating pigs, telekinetic monsters and ZOMBIES (which are different from most of "common" ones back in that day), but the most fearful enemy in the Zone are Stalkers (and you, cause you can kill everyone and still manage to finish the game). Speaking of the finish... The title has 7 endings, the bad, the good, and neutral ones that need different "playthrough" to achieve them.

All in all S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl is a decent game, with some minor bugs that can repair themselves by reentering the same location, the story is enjoyable, despite that this is more of a game-book than actual story, if you have some spare change, you can easily buy this and spend at least 2-3 days on gaming.

OH and the most important note: the title was checked on Win10 and didn't need any community packs, so you can sleep well without feeling that the game won't start
