Core gameplay is so, so good! Really, you wouldn't believe how good.

Force-fed unskippable cringe-worthy "story" with no interaction whatsover is so (regardless of the message), so bad that it nearly kills all the joy.

Nearly. Hence positive review. But talk about wasted potential...

I really want to love the game, but:

- standard game takes something between 3-6 hours depending on how much you pause
- you can't speed the game up, so in late stages with the whole map discovered, you can do little but to watch countdown...well, counting down
- more often than not, you make one tiny mistake and you're done. It's almost impossible to recover once 1 single zombie makes it through
- you cannot save / load

None of these points would be too much of a pain by itself, but all 4 combined make losing extremely frustrating experience (and I'm a person who swears by XCOM Iron Man mode and enjoys having his ass handed to him by monsters in Darkest Dungeon).

Went into this with expectations of... dunno, Factorio (or perhaps Anno) on Mars with added theme of terraformation.

If this is what you want, STAY AWAY until logistic aspect is completely overhauled. Nothing makes sense, really.
