Welcome to Paid Mods 3.0. The devs don't seem nearly at all willing to listen to user criticism

I often try to not blindly follow the status quo, and this situation is no different.

The information released about this game today has just been unfortunate. With the planned addition of Easy Anti Cheat (within ~24 hours), things are looking grim for player satisfaction. Many people have already said that they at least will be waiting the anti-cheat out, or will be migrating to a competitor. It's too bad to see that VRChat isn't immune to the corporate shenanigans we see all too often. For the time being, I'll be setting this game aside until the VRChat developers and executives actually show they're listening, instead of shortsightedly looking out for their bottom line.

Fair warning, the rest of this review will largely restate what has already been said.

While I have never used mods myself, I see the value in them. This is especially true for a game like VRChat, where community interaction, creativity, and quality of life are paramount, and valued above all. Therefore, I find myself asking why the developers chose, or were forced to implement an anti-cheat into their non-competitive, non-shooter, social/interactive game.

Please developers and corporate overlords, rethink your decision, and listen to your players. If not for love of your players, for your bottom line. Thanks.

Super fun to mess around on with friends or sometimes by yourself. If you're a creative type, this game is for you!

I had a fair bit of fun on this thing. I lost interest when the show was cancelled, but the devs still keep it up!

Worth the money. I've spent a lot of fun hours playing this game and modding it to hell and back. It's just really buggy with only the base game.

ArmA 3 is an amazing realistic military tactical shooter.
With diverse combat tactics, decent AI, and the ability to make a near completely custom scenario with pretty good AI, ArmA is easily an impressively ambitious Military Sandbox game with plenty of modability. Since the last installment of the franchise, there are some clear improvements to the gameplay and style of the game.

Instead of the classic military-based shooters we all know and love like Call of Duty, Battlefield, and even Battlefront, ArmA 3 misleads the player somewhat when the tutorial campaign slips into a story-based narrative. This third installment is more of a sandbox than anything, with tons of potential for modding and custom servers. Just like Garry's Mod, I'm certain you can get tons of enjoyment out of this game as long as you know how to play and find the right server for your needs and wants.

Unfortunately, this is to some degree not true anymore. I've been playing this game for, as stated above, since 2014. Back then, this game was a pure indie; there were no lootboxes or transactions. You earned every item that you had on your robot, and you earned every single one of your levels. There even used to be a TECH TREE! Wow!
Somewhat recently, the devs completely overhauled the progression system. Now, you may think I'm just being nostalgic or something, but the Devs really screwed this game in the ass, and flipped the earlier players multiple birds.
Instead of everything being based on merit, now almost all loot is entirely lootbox-based, and the tech tree is completely removed. Why fix something that isn't broken, Freejam? You had an absolutely amazing game with wonderful gameplay, mechanics, menus, progression, AI, and more. I truly did love this game.
You just had to ♥♥♥♥ it all up, didn't you? You had to follow the wake of all those mobile games and even AAA games that put in lootboxes so you can make some extra coin.
Please..
Undo your malformation of this once stunningly well-made game. On behalf of your fans, creators, and other; remove the lootboxes and re-add the tech tree. Re-add block tiers, radars, stealth emitters, and everything. Maybe even the multi-weapon system, too.
