No, I can't do this anymore. Another Korean game with INSANE grind. I have about 1K hours in Warframe, and this game tires me out. I am going to compare this game to Warframe, because this game has the worst aspect of Korea's gaming habits + Warframe's exhaustive gameplay. Just like my Warframe review, this is going to get long.

Let me clear the good points.

Graphically, it's amazing bar none. Unreal Engine 5 is beautiful and the characters are pretty. Korea never misses with Character/NPC aesthetics, from Blade and Soul to BDO and this. For the fidelity shown, it also runs fantastically with DLSS.

Animations in combat and movement are also well done. Not sure if they are mo-cap, because the animations are natural, smooth, transition nicely from one stance to another. One animation you will bound to see endlessly is the grapple animation and subsequently the landing animation, and it is just so smooth and satisfying.

The coomer skins. Ya the girls are sexualised, what a surprise from Korea right. Maid skin, Bunny suit, Schoolgirl, expect more coomer skins in the future.

That about ends all the good things I have to say.
"What??" I hear you ask, "Is that really all, that can't be it? Surely, there is more points."
Compare to its competitors, Warframe and Destiny 2, it is worse in every single gameplay element and I am pushing strings here to find anything equal.

Gameplay Grind. Ya, it grinds. But the grind is WORSE than Warframe, and I QUIT Warframe because the grind got stale. So where does it fall short? Let me tell you.

Descendant = Warframe, in this regard, Ultimate Descendant = Prime Warframe
Amorphous Material = Relics, I will just use relics since it is shorter
Energy Activator = Warframe/Weapon Potato
Crystalisation Catalyst = Forma

Getting more descendants. The loop is the same as Warframe where you complete missions to get relics and you crack them open after the boss fights. In theory, this is better because once you overlevel against a boss, you can finish them faster than in Warframe and run the boss more times. However, it does not work well in this game. In Warframe, you almost never run these relic cracking missions Solo because you can pick on others' relic drop as well, meaning to say, by running it with 4 players of the same relic, you can quadruple your chances of obtaining your desired part. The First Descendant is all about that Solo Leveling experience, you cannot pick on others' relic drop after defeating the boss so whilst the chad Warframe players are chancing on 8% for the rare drop, you as the virgin The First Descendant player is chancing on a 2% drop each time.

AH AH AH, but there is a caveat. You can grind for Shape Stabilizers to guarantee your relic drops. Thus, it still is bett- NO WRONG. THE DAMN SHAPE STABILIZERS HAVE A DROP RATE OF 2%!!!!! That PATHETIC drop rate is from a medium length mission, so what about the short length-ed mission? IT'S 0.4%, WHAT?! The reason why Korea's birthrate is dropping is not only because their workplace is stressful but also, their games are stupidly stressful. You either chance a 2% drop or you chance a 2% to guarantee your drop. FFS.

Potatos and Forma? I am going to keep this short. SAME ♥♥♥♥. I've never even seen either of them once in my 20 hours.

What about the gunplay and shooting? It's bad. Awful even. Uninspiring. Every gun shoots the same bullet or whatever and adds artificial recoil to the type. Ultimate guns get a little bonus like AOE or Stun. Overall, it is boring. I fell asleep playing this game multiple times already because the shots in the background all sound the same.

I understand that they are going for a realistic look for the guns, so I guess them being bland is fine? Unfortunately, most of them just look like guns, like modern 21st century guns. Like ugh, generic student learning asset for 3D modeling level of ugh bland design. Some of them do look nice like The Last Dagger which caught my eye for looking like a miniature handheld railgun.

The story is bad. Though, Warframe and Destiny's story are also bad af with no redeeming qualities until later on in both games' questline. Right now though, TFD needs to buck up its writing team. That being said, I will give a point to the cutscene where Jeremy fought against the Vulgus. It was very pretty, well choreographed and exciting to watch. MORE OF THAT PLEASE, not dialogue with the guide and blah blah blah.

No player trading. You cannot earn the premium currency as a F2P at all. Matter of fact, once you get high enough level, you are decentivised to play with other players because why would you wait 30+ seconds to matchmake when you can launch immediately. The only time for the matchmake feature is the bosses which also fall to the overlevel creep.

I am unaware of what to think of a game like this anymore. I don't hate it, but I certainly don't enjoy it. I might come back again to waste my time and look at the coomer skins.

Good MMO in a sea of ♥♥♥♥♥, it's a Whale's paradise but still very F2P friendly.

Star Trek Online is made with love and passion from the developers, they've got the original actors from the TV shows to reprise their roles and voice act in well written story. There are plenty of story arc for the players to play through and explore more of the Star Trek universe. Most of them are written very well and kept interesting enough to hold the players' attention at all times.

You gotta love this game's music, the main character selection screen has got the BEST background music ever. I have looped the game in the background over the years just for the music.

The graphics has not aged well, you can see that most evidently on ground where the textures are disgustingly bad to the human eye. However, an advantage of low resolution texture is the extreme fast loading times between areas. It takes no more than 30 seconds for me to load from one area to the next.

Now, combat in this game is unlike anything you've played. Space combat where you pilot your starship is one of the best PvE combat system in anything similar. you can move in a 3D environment (3 axies XYZ) and position your ship for a broadside barrage of lasers. Your starship can be further customised with different weapons and loadouts to varied styles. It's glorious, Beam Boats to Cannon Volleys and Torpedoes build.

Now for what you have waited for. Is the game P2W?

Yes. Like all MMOs, STO has been alive for 14 years. You don't have a MMO running for 14 years without massive player's whaling. Most of the best DPS consoles and traits(captain and ship) in the game are obtained from Lockboxes(Lootbox) or from Zen Store ships.

Fortunately for you F2Ps, it is not all lost. You can reach very competitive DPS numbers by just spending time in the game and reaching Lvl 50 to unlock the Reputation system which has BiS gear for free. Some of the story mission also award you with very good end game scalable gear. Every story basically give enough for 1 level up each time, so you can reach max level (65) in a few days if you grind long.

This game is still good, you're be joining a friendly and knowledgeable community. Besides, this is the ONLY good Star Trek game out there.

Well done, Helldivers. The Helldivers have bravely pushed back against the deceitful SONY automatons. They'll think twice before attacking us again.

I'm sorry to point this out, but this game has stagnated since 2017. I enjoyed my time with it but it is clear that no one except the art team cares anymore.

Bethesda does not support the modding community, Bethesda HATES mods being better than their games. Bethesda LOOKS DOWN on you for using mods. Despite everything they've ever said, "We love the modding community, we want to support them with our modding kit" blah blah Bu11Sh*t.

This old game is nearly 8 years old as of me writing this, the base game is going 13 years on, yet Bethesda keeps releasing updates that intentionally breaks all your essential mods. The reason why they released this version of 'SPECIAL' edition is to control the modding scene from Oldrim and covered up with an engine upgrade. Not satisfied, they ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ updated the game to 'ANNIVERSARY' edition for absolutely 0 reason, that once again, broke every mod that we had enjoyed. NOW, they have the AUDACITY TO STEALTH UPDATE the game that breaks literal decade old mods just to hinder SKSE, all to disable achievements with mods. NO ONE needed YOUR redundant fixes, WE fixed the game 10 years ago.

Thank you BETHESDA, ♥♥♥♥ your creation kit, ♥♥♥♥ your 'support', ♥♥♥♥ your starfield flop, go ♥♥♥♥ yourself.

Pure dumb fun, would recommend any day.

It's the best AC game because it's not trying to be a AC game, it's the best pirate game. Sea of thieves comes close but I loved having a full crew and upgrading my ship to fight big galleons. Skull and bones was such a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ disappointment.

So for pirating fans, we only have Black Flag.

This game is CRIMINALLY UNDERRATED. If you give it the time and attention.

Many people hate the "Doomsday Clock" that this game imposes on them, which I totally understand since the time limit also irked me. I had an on and off relationship with this game for almost 10 years, but I finally finished it fully. Armed with knowledge, I want people to understand this, you are fully welcome to fail your first run because... the game is built for New Game Plus. You can NG+ even if you fail, and you can NG+ an unlimited amount of time. I did not know this until recently, meaning this is almost Souls-like. Through NG+, you can complete prior quests faster, build Lightning better, progress further. There is a sense of joy to see progression reflected directly to the game's "Day".

Another point of contention is the removal of combat EXP, you only level up by doing quests and completing the Canvas of Prayers. Whilst this is a massive departure from traditional RPG game design, this experimental mechanic perfectly fits Lightning Returns and would not work in another setting. This has to do with the first point of the "Doomsday Clock". You do not have enough time to traditional grind mobs for tiny amount of exp for the next exponential number needed to level up. But by knowing the quests and their requirements, you can level up so much faster and get stronger MUCH easier. Who in the right mind would rather grind 100 little mobs than to just hand over 5 items.

- They didn't bring back my old wheel settings because I, like many people, set up new ones. Amazing Codemasters
- They also completely ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ nuked my wheel. The settings does not get applied at all, the wheel still turns to 900 degree rotation. I tried everything, restart game, unplug wheel, change profile. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ codemaster u guys simply cant do anything right. I am actually so impressed you lot havent been axed by EA yet. what a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ amazing deal that codemaster got acquired by one of the worst game publisher in US. fitting.

I don't care that this game has more grip than predecessor, what's ruins every damn race is the stupid blockheads racing with you.

The AI has got to be the worst in the series or ever. No racing game AI is as stupid as this game's. The AI code ONLY allows them to go on the racing line, never the insides. Bumping me off track is one thing, not receiving penalties is another. Boils my ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ blood to see them racing ahead like nothing even happens.

If you don't empathise with my experience, perhaps you have flashbacks on or races in single player where losing your front wing is minimal to the aforementioned experience, BUT god bless if you are racing in co-op and fighting for the championships with tight margins.
