It's crap - but it's crap you have fun smothering yourself with. A ton of heroes to play, and they're all unlocked without any grind or hassle on your part, unlike League. Each hero has their own niche and role to play with varying difficulties for your mechanical skills. IceFrog and Valve also prevent the meta from getting too stale by allowing some supports to pivot into carry roles, and vice versa, through constant balance changes.

The only drawback of Dota 2 - and quite frankly its main deterrant as a game - is the toxicity of the community. It is a competitive, team-based game so do expect people to grill you for when you perform poorly, or for when teammates pin the blame on you for their own sheer incompetence. It is particularly toxic in the Southeast Asia/Japan regions, in no small part thanks to the Filipinos, Indians, and East Asians who unfortunately call it home, so be mindful of that.
