Witcher 3, by far, is one of the best games I've ever played. The gameplay is similar to, but improved from Witcher 2. The graphics look far better, with more realistic looking characters. Unlike the previous games, where every chapter is divided upon hub areas, in Witcher 3 you have one big world map, where you can explore as you please, with the addition of fast travel and transportation, such as boats and horses.

The story is about Geralt, who recovered most, if not all, of his memories, and he's tasked to find his adoptive daughter Ciri, who's missing and hunted by The Wild Hunt, a group of brutal interdimensional elves. You will get to play as Ciri during certain levels. There are tons of sidequests, some of them really interesting. There's also competitions, for horse racing and a card game called Gwent, won by exhausting your opponent's cards.

If you import your save file from the second game, you will see several surprise appearances from some characters in the previous game, impacted by your decisions. Thus I recommend playing both Witcher 1 and 2 before jumping to Witcher 3. I advise buying the GOTY version, because it adds 2 story DLCs, both quite long, too.
