This game is incomparable to grand strategy games, the only ones you can compare are other Paradox titles.

However, the DLC system they have throughout their games is no doubt ridiculous, I am frustrated with Paradox as they do not seem to be the benevolent developers I thought they were. 75% of the post release content from EU4 should have been the "free content"

Now, all ranting aside, with or without the dlc Europa is still a beautiful sandbox world that allows you to take any country you want down any path you'd like. You have such an in-depth control of your nation that I can't even teach any of my friends how to play this game. I was only 13 years old when this game came out and I bought it, now as of writing this I'm 18 years old and out of school.

This game and all other paradox titles will forever give me nostalgia, definitely worth your time.

P.S and if you don't get eu4 on the $10 sales they do all the time you are dumb
