After one run I quickly learned this game wasn't for me. I tend to like deck builders/puzzle like games and really like the art style of this one. Felt just a bit too repetitive/limited and there was just something off.

12/26/23 - Finally finished the last stretch of quests! I'm glad I finished it after the epilogue was added. It truly added to the achievement of it all. All the kudos and love to Larian. Read through some of the credit dedications and just, well done to everyone on the team. Thank you for this game!

One of absolute best parts was as a lesbian, the reveal of Aylin and Isobel. WHAT A TREAT!!! So many great things to say, fleshed out characters, fun to travel and explore world, meaningful choices with consequences. Shadowheart 😍 Game of the year and it DESERVED it 🙌🙌🙌🙌

Haven't been back in a hot second, but catching up on some reviews. One of my absolute favorite games that when it came out, consumed all my time. I usually move on once I've done all there is in a survival crafter, but I've come back once or twice over to experience again. If you're looking for survival craft, especially with friends, this should be in your library.

My review so far with my limited time in the game, to be updated as I play through it.

Things I enjoy:

the VA is doing a good job so far. Feels relatable and the opening while tedious, had a lot of heart. the magic parkour is cool and I actually enjoy the cuff talks (see below)


Things I don't:

The cut scene cinematics are SO disappointing I was honestly shocked. With how much this game was hyped up and costs $70, you would expect great quality cut scenes with stellar mocap. You will not find that here.

cuff: great va, however, it is incredibly annoying you can't have a conversation with him and walk around.
there is also a significant delay after a cuff talk or tutorial popup to getting back to having control and being able to move. It gets boring fast staring into nothing waiting for a cuff talk to end. Having cuff talks while being able to move would keep people more engaged.

graphics: not many settings to altar aka not many to be able to get it how you need it for optimal performance. I can safely now say this is not optimized very well. In this same breath, the character has an almost bloom around her hair/face that no setting I've found so far has taken away.

I hope to add more to the like column as time goes on, but for now this is a wait and see how they improve the game/sale. Sadly I can't refund or else I'd do that and come back later. I never learn my lessons with pre-ordering games :((

Incredible graphics and story. The web swinging is SO fluid and fun that I often found myself not fast travelling. I'm not a completionist, but doing all the side stuff is so fun I'll probably 100% just because I'm having a good time.

Just going through my games I haven't reviewed. Man do I regret supporting this. Abandoned game with no way for a refund.

My designer heart soars anytime I open this game

The replayability isn't high for me personally, but I like knowing I can always come back to this for my Dune fix. Scratches that itch!

Definitely sucked me in MAJOR on release day. I was super into the exploration of the Abbey so I've been slow-going through the story missions. I will say that some moments during combat should be sped up, but overall I enjoy the strategy of it. I actually kind of wish it was more RNG, when you've had to start some missions over multiple times, cards and enemy placements do not change. I also increased the difficulty each time I unlocked it. I don't think I'll go into master difficulty 'cause its pretty dang hard as is, but man I've really enjoyed it. I also played as a male character which I don't normally do, but I'm a fan of Matthew Mercer. I played 5 hours with the female character before I learned he was the male voice. I'm glad I switched! I now play it leisurely but I think it's mostly 'cause I'm trying to savor it now.
