There's a reason this game launched Supergiant to fame. Bastion is one of the most atmospheric and beautiful gaming experiences you'll find out there. The gameplay is simple (and occasionally frustrating) but the world the game builds is a startlingly compelling one given its simplicity. The soundtrack and narration are fantastic, drawing you into to this world and making you actually care about its inhabitants.

The effect is so pronounced that, after spending the entirety of the game building toward a single decision (and knowing exactly how I was going to make said decision), the sudden thought of how it might affect one of the NPCs turned it into an agonizing choice. In the end, I took the option I never thought I would, all because I suddenly realized I cared about these characters.

Face it, not many people haven't played Bastion at this point. But if you haven't, you're missing out on one of the best gaming experiences out there. It's not overly long, but quality definitely trumps quantity and it will stick with you for a while.
