I really, really love RPG tactics, especially action point based TBTs; be it Silent Storm, XCOM, X-COM, Xenonauts, BatteTech, Wasteland... but this one? I don't know, man. I tried to treat it respectfully like a classic franchise, but in the end I refunded it when I realized that I just don't look forward to playing it. I tried reading guides, watching some videos - to no avail, I couldn't spark interest within.

I mean... This is a quality game, sure enough. It is a product of many hours spent, I realize it has been crafted with hefty funding and a lot of love. Oddly enough, I even really enjoyed the game - except for the combat itself. The guns shoot twenty meters away; in general the combat feels crippled and unintuitive.

As a side note, I also didn't really get into the story - bad dictator, good president, everyone speaks with colonial French accent. "Now imagine a very standard story about the daughter of a kidnapped african president, and his mortal enemy - the big bad colonel. Add funny dialogue."

I tried to like it, but after three times I found myself wondering when this lame combat stage will be over soon and I get to play with RPG elements. This is a game about combat though, so I made the decision to not play it anymore. =(

I am gonna be real here guys - this game ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sucks. I spent 40 minutes trying to get a game going. Voice chat doesn't work, the only time I was able to join a game I spawned under ground and had to Alt+F4. What else is there to say?

The only time I was able to play it was with my friends, but then we had only one map available, and I am sure as ♥♥♥♥ not spending dozens of hours to unlock the other maps. The scares are genuinely good - it's a shame that the game doesn't work.

TL:DR
The game doesn't work, and I can't be bothered to spend hours to get in a lobby only to crash.

Okay. It's a wargame with QOL things from SD2. It feels like European Escalation + Steel Divison 2. Which is not necessarily bad; I kind of find this blend to be fascinating.

I like the squad system. It's refreshing.

I hate the lack of content. The user interface is REALLY bad. I take it with a grain of humor - the dudes need money, they released it. I bought it after all.

It is a classic beta. I have played Eugen's games for too long to not give it a try. It's good. A bit less chaotic for my taste (say whatever, I love 10v10s unless its a STTP or high income Allies in SD2), but refhesing in a sence that it makes you thing ahead.

Also, nice try on the 80s aesthetics. It delivers the vibe... I'd recommend to blast some synthwave while playing it though, it fits in a good way.

Considering its a new Eugen product, it is likely that they will put top priority on Warno. Updates are coming; whether or not to spare money for being a beta tester, is one's call. It is refreshing, yet... raw.

Cyberpunk 2077 has first been announced in 2012 — and the related hype has been snowballing ever since. The more one expects, the easier one is disappointed, and whole eight years of waiting can crank up one’s expectations to an unreachable level. Cyberpunk in general is a peculiar sub genre of science fiction, which is typically set in dystopian future of advanced technologies and lacking social mechanisms: hi-tech, lo-life is the formula. In this regard, Cyberpunk 2077 has arrived just on time. In other respects, it might’ve been released too early.

The storyline of the game is a typical cyberpunk story about backroom deals, treacherous betrayals, all-pervasive digital technologies, and the cost of true friendship. Without any doubt, the story is the best part of the game: not only it is most intriguing, but is also quite dependent on the player’s choices — both in dialogues and during the course of gameplay. The characters are memorable and convincing — yeah, including Keanu Reeves, even if I didn’t particularly dug this kind of overblown hype. It is admittedly nice to hear his voice and the character Keanu is playing is sort of an unusual type for the actor.

This is where I praise the game’s audio. The sounds, the music, and the voiceovers are outstanding. Gunfire and explosions are juicy, music is diverse and, well, weird in a sense that it tries to depict what people would listen to in 2077. The sheer amount of voice lines is truly astounding, and all of them are well-played.

The game is admittedly not... technically perfect. While I do not play on a console, where the players seem to be outraged with the game’s abysmal performance and various bugs, the PC version is merely imperfect. There are some glitches, but neither of them are game-breaking. Some are very annoying though.

However, the players’ reaction is totally blown out of proportion. The sheer volume of variables, locations, items and data in general implies huge amount of variables, hence potential bugs. This has been the case since the dawn of videogames era as far as I remember, and I can’t see how that will change, unless some kind of beta-testing AI is developed. Game-breaking bugs are intolerable, granted. Obscure glitches are bad, but acceptable in the context of the game’s complexity: after all, it is an open world game with hundreds of characters and thousands of other assets.

Some say that Cyberpunk 2077 has been released too early, but one has to realize that the more a game spends in the development, the more outdated it gets, and the harder it is to keep the fans agitated. It had to be released at some point, and it was.

Conclusion:
I expected nothing, and got a somewhat glitchy, but immersive and intriguing game with a curious storyline to explore, which I wholeheartedly enjoy.

While it has some positive qualities - writing and music being the most distinct - I couldn't finish the game due to a game-breaking bug. Asking for help @ forums or Reddit didn't spark any feedback from the developer - which is probably OK, why would they care about a single customer.

However, if I can't finish the game, I can't recommend it.

It's the best horror game I have ever played: frankly, a tier above anything else. Probably the most intriguing story in any game I've played since 1995, too.

A masterpiece, and I never say that lightly. After playing for 20 minutes I realized this is gonna be insanely exciting so I recorded my whole playthrough and uploaded just to watch it again when I'm old.

...YOU'LL NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU CAN DO
UNTIL YOU GET IT UP HIGH AS YOU CAN GOOOOOOOOOOOO

No, seriously, its a great mix of easy to learn hard to master. The visuals are great. The controls are GREAT. The 80s style is great.

Its just a very decent overlooked game. I am sincerely enjoying it.
