Early Access Review
This game is not like a lot of other games in this genre. It's doesn't have a gentle progression after upgrading stats and proceeding further into the game. This is a very skill based game. You are required to learn the patterns of the enemies and bosses, as well as learn which attacks and passives to pick and upgrade. It's hard at first, but once you figure things out the fun intensifies. After you've learned how to play the game and can regularly beat the final boss and complete the stages can you start with the meta progression in the game. This is all by design. The developers wanted to do something a little different from the norm. I admit I struggled with it at first, but once I started to figure things out I really started to enjoy the game.

The game has a super cute look which can be quite deceiving. It's not as chill a game as a lot of the games in this genre/sub-genre. You really have to work for those wins at times. Once you figure things out though it becomes routine. I wouldn't call it a Souls-like because it doesn't play anything like one, but I would say it's one of those games that requires skill and for the player to be paying attention. The game is both easier and harder when playing with teammates. It all depends on how well you work together as a team. If you stick close together you should have an easier time of things.

In the end I have to say that this is one of my favorite games in this genre despite my preference for games I can just sit back and chill with. I appreciate the challenge I guess.
