CK2 is a s.h.i.t.e game in many ways. A difficulty curve like the north face of the Eiger in a hurricane. A tutorial system that seems to be constantly out of date with every iteration and DLC update, and a UI that not only seems to be actively designed to obstruct you from directly weighing up and comparing options (the very meat of the game), but was also conceived without any regard to resolution scaling, and peoples eyesight.

Yet, in spite of these huge flaws, it is a game that I find myself returning to again and again, either to try out some new approach (I'm a serial noodler) or simply to see how the latest DLC can benefit and expand my gameplay. Despite having clocked innumerable hours, I wouldn't claim to be in any way an expert (save at conquering Ireland which I have down to pat) but I actively enjoy just how far down the deep dark rabbit hole of machiavellian scheming, po-faced villainy and relentless debauchery the game will take me when it comes to clinically advancing the interests of my Dynasty against all others.

To recount my myriad in-game crimes would take far more time that I am able to presently spare, but if there is a hell for such activities, then I fully expect to spend eternity in it. Come join me, it's toasty.
