This game practically defined the current gaming generation. There are good and bad things about it but overall I and everyone I know was glad they played through the entire game(at least the main campaign). I agree with most people on here, FNV was a better game in term of story but FO4 really revamped and fixed issues with gameplay and mechanics. The new VATS is beautiful and weapons are way cooler in my opinion. I was hoping the next game was going to be an improvement to the storytelling aspect but I saw they practically got rid of it sadly. I hope the next large RPG from bethesda (crossing my fingers for elder scrolls VI) will feature more factions and unique dialogue. Overall I recomend playing this game if you are a fan or new to RPGs but it may not appeal to everyone.
