So glad the best CD-i game finally got ported to steam!

It's like a hidden gem from the Gamecube era, only its new and much much better!

I both recommend this game and don't
The beginning of the game is great, it pulls you in quickly and doesn't take long at all to get going. The combat is easy to understand and with the skill-tree can be improved.
The graphics are pretty nice to look at and the music you hear during combat, exploration and cut-scenes just fits. Its good, nothing special.

BUT
After the first few hours of the game it goes down fast.
The setting and horror aspect look and play really good in the opening but after that it kinda went missing form the game.... The combat (Besides upgrades) doesn't change and gets boring pretty quickly, as you encounter random enemies it just becomes a chore to deal with and you'd rather skip it.
Collectibles are scattered all over the map, and there are a lot (566) and it shows that its too much.
At some point you will just be using the skill or Google that shows where they as you mindlessly collect them all. It doesn't require skill or thinking, just look around at some points.
Expanding the map is done in the same way same way, like some games require you to find a high point to scan your surroundings, in this game you find Torii Gate's that will widen the area. It's a small thing that you do without much effort or thinking.
Side missions are pretty repetitive and can get boring after a while.

The enemies in the game are great in my opinion, and pretty much the reason i got interested in this game.
I love Urban Myths and Monsters from different countries and they look really good in this game.
But again...fighting them isn't that difficult. Most have a pattern to defeating them and its easy to learn the first time, after that it becomes annoying to halt your progress because you got spotted and weren't stealthy enough. So you rather just get out your One-Hit-Kill Bow weapon and kill them from a distance.



The game is fun, it's promising but it lacks in long run.
The opening is great in my opinion but once you really get into the game it gets boring fast.
Combat is pretty fun but once you find the easiest way to defeat them it just becomes annoying the having to fight a bunch while you'd rather just ignore them and go on with your side quest or main story.

I'm not even against the removal of mods or the Anti-Cheat

10/10 Masterpiece in my opinion

I love this game.
Makes me feel how i did when i played the old Rare Ware Games for N64

No matter how long or how many times you play this game.
The story, visuals and gameplay will keep pulling you back.

I came for the memes, and stayed for the action (and memes)

Can never have enough seizures!
