In all my hours of playing, I have yet to craft a survival horde.

Early Access Review
Even in its early access state, it's a phenomenal game. I hesitate to call it a masterpiece since it's still got some rough spots and some features have yet to be fully implemented, but I have no doubt it will be one by the time it leaves early access. To the developer, I say thanks for making this!

An inferior experience to the regular game in every way except that you are able to experience it in VR. I've played other VR titles for half the price that play and look much better. Here's what I have to report about the first hour or so of gameplay.

Pros:
+Swinging one-handed melee weapons and pistol whipping works decently well.
+You can grab things, throw things, and knock items around with other items.
+Movement works as well as other VR FPS titles I've played. You can also jump, though unrealistically high.

Cons:
-Low resoultion with no way to change it (even for a VR game, it's low)
-Shadows and textures are low quality and, again, no option to change them.
-Visual stuttering during cutscenes and dialogue.
-Using the PIP Boy is inconvenient and clunky in VR. You use it with only one hand (your off hand). It wouldn't be such a headache if they allowed your second hand to select things on the interface as if the PIP Boy had a touch screen. Or at least allow your second hand to turn the damned knob on the end to change tabs like the character model did in the original game.
-Every other NPC is a head taller than me and there is no way within the game to change this.
-You cannot customize the look of your character beyond choosing from the handful of starting presets.
-Your character's body and appendages are invisible.
-They removed those mini-cutscene sequences in the normal version of the game, the ones where you are in first person and your character does something involving movement, such as when you enter the cryopod in the beginning of the game, or when you plug your PIP Boy into the vault door controls to exit the vault for the first time.

By the time I killed the bloatflies with Codsworth after exiting the vault, I decided the game was not worth my time in its present state. I didn't get far enough to see if scopes work, which I heard don't. I'm sure there would be even more disappointments in store if I continue. Poorly executed and not worth a quarter of the price as it is now. I'm glad I got it for free with my VIVE. Charging $60 US doesn't seem justifiable to me, especially for those who already own the original game. I hope they complete a proper VR implementation for this game in the future.
