Difficult to pin.

Matches are wildly inconsistent on both ends of the spectrum, with extreme highs and lows. Playing with friends is a blast, and the sense of comradery from a full squad of five friends running around dominating is simply unmatched anywhere else.

The weapons are generally interesting, although there are more sidegrades then necessary in my opinion. There are four classes, an SMG / shotgun demo expert, an supporting machine gunner, a medic, and essentially a sniper. Each class has a specific niche of weapon types which generally do not get boring. The unlock system is convoluted and unclear, and the way you 'purchase' weapons is generally a slow grind and may leave you stuck using a gun you absolutely despise.

The integration of vehicles into a game like this always brings problems. Any game with tanks and infantry is bound to be frustrating at some point. That said, there is an acceptable amount of agency players have in dealing with the planes and tanks that will attempt to stop them either from the assault class or from stationary field guns on the map.

The behemoths are just ♥♥♥♥♥♥' cool. I love that kind of stuff. Reminds me of Battlefront 1's walkers if you're familiar. It's always awesome to see that kind of mechanic in a game like this.

The campaign was alright. I didn't really enjoy sneaking around so much, but the stories they told were all pretty engaging and they taught you important game mechanics like piloting and using the trooper kits. The airplane level's ending was badass.

The gunplay is mediocre. The game sort of suffers from a 'Schrodinger's Balance', where all guns are simultaneously overpowered and underpowered at the same time. Something I kept noticing was that you could only assure a kill when you shot someone in the back, even regardless if you had seen them and engaged first, even from the front. Most of the maps are designed where danger can come from literally all angles, which is unpredictable for many players and can be very annoying.

Overall, I'd buy this one only if you've got the friends to join you. If you like Call of Duty style games, you'll probably enjoy it. If you enjoyed Star Wars: Battlefront 1, you'll probably enjoy it. If you play a lot of tactical shooters, it's a bit of a harder sell.
