Early Access Review
rubber banding, poorly optimized, frequent crashes, awful servers. Has potential but the current price tag is exorbitant in its current sorry state.

Coming as a fan of Red Orchestra 2, Rising storm Vietnam 2: Hell Let loose feels like a massive downgrade in terms of, well, everything.

Played this game for a few hours and already the few caveats which really annoyed me and are plagued in modern strategy FPS games like squad etc;

For some reason you can't pickup weapons, can't drop weapons, no campaign mode in multiplayer, taking over territories is about tiny circles instead of a bigger area of the map... Red Orchestra 2 just did EVERYTHING better.
All platoons have all infantry units, nobody picks rifleman. In Red Orchestra 2 most platoons were rifleman batallion squads, with a few exceptions in the more specialized platoons. Weapon variety and picking up weapons, looting, felt as a real necessity and made the game more fun. In HLL, everyone runs around with a machine gun which just isn't accurate.

Man do I miss the passion and greatness of games. The standard has been lowered substantially these days.

This game just isn't enjoyable after you've played Battle Brothers... There's too many things which Battle Brothers does better and that quality ruins other turn-based games :/ Wish I had a "Neutral" option.

A proper tribute to Kentaro Miura, and the legendary anime/manga BERSERK.

Lots of references to the Hundred man Slayer, Griffith, midland vibes.

Don't play this game watching guides and powerplaying. You're only going to enjoy this for the first time once, do it with organic exploring. Don't be one of those neckbeards

It's the QoL updates and the careful caress of the developers that really just complete this masterpiece. Not only visually pleasing, the many quality of life updates removes many annoyances such as; Being able to see on the map where NPCS are, temporary beacons that you place on a map removing themselves once you reach them...

Small details like these are worth their weight in gold. Any other company could have just ignored these small issues behind the face of "muh muh this is our game concept, it's supposed to be hard and you're supposed to play and read all the wikis".

We are blessed to have a company like Fromsoft in our lifespan.
