It's all about me.
I love to play games. My game of the moment is Payday 2.
I work as an analyst. I picture each workday as a grind to level up my character.
I'm also a writer. My best pieces, I think, are done inside my head during my commute to the office; it's never written down.
Who am I joking?
I constantly screw up a group heist. I fall asleep mid-work. And I have been suffering from writer's block for most of the year.
Then it occurs to me. Work, passion, and hobby doesn't completely define who I am. It's the people close to me that I love and loves me back that completes me. The rest are just accessories that can be added, changed, or upgraded.
But my family? They're timeless.
I look around and see Tess (wife) smiling at me despite holding two bills in her hand. Lulu (eldest) tells me about her competition next month, and Gabbi (youngest) is drawing something awesome for the umpteenth time.
And this moment is my happy place. It's that somewhere, something, and sometime that I can go to when things are dark. I'm just writing it down in the rare chance I forget.
Now, let's see, during the BIg Bank heist, would it be best if I just kill all the civilians once I get rid of the guards?

Last week:
Gameplay is king.
So, where were we .. oh yeah. Two daughters in college, job on the nightshift doing analytics, gaming fever's off the charts, so little time to game, and still haven't seen Titanic the movie.
Paying college tuition for 2 kids is backbreaking! Think of all the wonderful games I could get! Oh well, I've made it clear, they can pay me back by getting me a monster of a PC when they start working. haha
My eldest is the sensible one. She's in the Taekwondo college varsity team and literally kicking ass! My youngest is the artist of the family. House is brimming with her drawings and stuff. Together, they strike a perfect balance between unrestrained logic and creative drama.
My wife is the commander in chief. We scurry out like rats when she's on the warpath; from unwashed dishes to unkempt rooms. haha.
Together, we are the most dysfunctional family you will ever know. We've gone through hell and back together; tough as nails, tight as a rope.
Me? Well, I just want to see how all this will play out. I'm a big picture kind of a guy.

Thanks to kind souls (that means you EspiOne and UberFiend!) I'm back to regular gaming habits. Slowly downloading my games and squeezing them to all possible hd space i could get.
So many games, so little time. Yet this makes me savor each gaming minute.
I am in gamer heaven.

Before all this...
Been gaming since the first Pong console came out in the 70s. No joystick.. just two knobs. lol. But afterwards, I was hooked. Blinking lights and animated pixels just sets me off to a state of euphoria.
Gotta avoid those slots in the casino.
I'm the consummate fanboy (fanman?). I Just gobble up pop culture like pacman on crack.
Writer, Analyst, and constant daydreamer, I am (according to my kids), the king of chill. I look to The Dude as my inspiration for that. And like the dude, I try to abide.
