Overwatch is a fun game, made by tone deaf developers, and overseen by greedy higher-ups.

I have put a little bit over 1200+ into the game, I purchased OW1 back in 2017 for full price and I will never regret doing so. The game I purchased was made by a team that I knew loved and cared for this game, and you could tell that they were making the game they wanted to despite if it would take them a long time to do so. I absolutely love this game, it has been a staple in my life for years and I couldn't ever truly see myself quitting for good.

But starting last October with the Launch of OW2 something felt off. The switch to the F2P Battlepass + in-game Shop MTX signaled, and the promised PVE (which was still slated to release with no indication that it was majorly cut content wise) nowhere to be seen signaled the end times for this game. Instead a large majority of the content that was given to players were $20 shop skins and a mediocre battlepass and little content to boot. We were expected to give this company money because the PVE was still coming and needed all the funding it could need because the OW1 model wasn't helping them achieve their goals. Then the bombshell drops that the majority of what they've been working on since OW1 was cut in half and now players wouldn't be able to play the entire PVE experience that was promised to be coming for years, then the trend continued with other promised features such as weapon inspects not coming any time soon because "It's not a priority" for the dev team at this point in time and I remember seeing a response to this statement on twitter saying "It's not a priority until they can figure out how to put a price tag on it," as funny and sad as that sounds- its probably true.

This dev team has become super tone-deaf with what the community wants with the game, and then delivering a half-baked PVE experience for $15 to $40 that is fun once and never again and expects people to pay another $15 next year. Something has changed with these devs, and it is really unfortunate to see such a beloved game go down the gutter.
