Early Access Review
This game is so much fun, but can be very unforgiving at times. Absolutely worth the price. Definitely play with as many people as you can. There was clearly a lot of love poured into this game.

Amazing game, tons of content, encountered a few bugs here and there, but overall is a perfect port to PC. I couldn't ask for this game to be any better than it is.

Controls are really nice, easily the best VR sim game and can suck you in for hours without even realizing.

I definitely lost a bit of sanity playing this game. I gave up at the start of the seventh chapter, and watched the ending on YouTube instead. I can see how this game would be fun for people looking for a challenge, but I wouldn't recommend this to anyone who plays games casually or to relax.

Soundtrack struck a CHORD with me… get it. Seriously though, beautiful art, music, and great gameplay mechanics. The pacing feels fantastic, and not too difficult if you’re wanting a relaxing puzzle platformer to play. Love the characters too omg… I just wish the game lasted longer!

This game is my top pick from 2019. It's thrilling, empowering, emotional, and just really super fun to play. The story is delivered by an exceptional cast and its performance greatly exceeded any expectations I had. It's an absolutely incredible game and I'm so happy to see new Star Wars content on Steam, or just any EA game on Steam for that matter. I'd love to see more of this from this franchise. I loved it, you guys nailed it.

I played this game with a few friends just in odd times when we wanted something different to play. I never really got too far in this game, because performance on my older pc was just awful the more progress I'd get into the game. There were obviously some good updates coming out and I built a new pc... so I gave it another try. Performance was good and I had a good friend to get jumpstarted into the game. This time performance was much better at 90+ fps, but I still was kinda just there and wasn't really doing much. I just kinda went out and dug up some resources. My friend would build the base and show me the things, but I never really did any of that. So... while he was off, I thought it'd be a good idea to go to Novus by myself with a solid fuel thruster. In my attempt, I managed to get actually stuck on another planet.

This... Changed... Everything...

I died multiple times, started reading up on the wikis / help on the Steam discussions, learning more about crafting and what resources I needed to get back. It was almost traumatic in a sense, because I was completely thrown into the deep end and that made me completely fall in love with the game. I was finally tested and that meant something to me. I wasn't just handed things. After that, I swore to myself I'd never get into another situation like that again. I was genuinely scared being completely alone on a planet with little to no knowledge of how to get back. I knew I had to do more planning in the future, and pack better resources with me on my voyages so I'm not left helpless again. I managed to finally 100% the game yesterday, and it felt great. I'm not spoiling anything, but it is challenging to say the least. It really is a great game, and if you have some spare time, watch the documentary "The Untold Story Behind Astroneer's Difficult Development" on YouTube. I watched it a while ago before my own revelation with the game, and it gave me a lot of respect for System Era.

Anyway, definitely purchase this game. It's worth it, and you'll enjoy it no matter how you play the game. I do recommend playing the tutorial and maybe playing a little on your own (or even literally doing the whole game alone), so that way you can just get a taste of what it's really like before playing with friends. You'll be more comfortable in multiplayer that way and actually learn the game mechanics better.

Tip: Be careful when reading the wikis, because there are spoilers!!!
