I remember buying this during a Steam Sale (purchase history says for 73 cents), but didn't get a chance to try it out as I was in the hospital.

Recently tried to play it and a major red flag, the game has NO Lefty Mode.
This is a major problem as I play left handed and they couldn't even include the most basic feature (yes, this is a BASIC feature). I throw left handed which is why I'm much more comfortable playing left handed. I've tried to play right handed and I just can't do it.

This makes this game unplayable for me and an instant Not-Recommended.
Had they added Lefty Mode so I could play the game, I might reconsider my review. However, since this game was released in 2016, I doubt that would ever happen. I'll just go play RB3 on my PS3 or Clone Hero instead.

DOOM (2016) is such a good game. One of the games I am glad I pre-ordered and was well worth the money.
I look forward to DOOM: Eternal.

*This game was 1 of 4 free games I got with a new video card back in September 2014,
an XFX Radeon R9 270x 4GB.*

I won't make this a super long review, so gonna just get to the point.

Campaign
The campaign overall was was good. It was a decent length, unlike many games can you can beat in maybe 4 to 5 hours. This was longer, having much more to offer.
Some levels, Halfya Pass for example took me at least 1 hour 30 minutes.

I was also glad at how large some of the levels were.
I like more open levels that this game had, with multiple approaches to objectives.
This then helped improve strategy and tactics for completing levels.

Go 1 way, tag many enemies, then go another way so you (with sound cover) and take them out 1 by 1.

Game Engine
I liked how well optimized the engine. The game felt very smooth, didn't lag pretty much at all.
Graphics I thought were pretty good. Honestly, I'm somebody whose not picky about graphics at all.
The Bullet Cam is always a positive thing, I like it's improvements.

The Engine as a whole, did seem like a major upgrade over previous Sniper Elite Games, including Nazi Zombie Army.
NZA II really lagged for me, regardless of settings. This game ran much better and was better optimized.

Multiplayer
*Will Update on this later. I haven't played the MP part of the game yet.*

Coop
I played a few Campaign levels with a friend, as well as some Overwatch levels.
Overwatch was fun, switch off between spotter and sniper. My friend kept letting me be the sniper since he said I was a better shot (more consistently accurate).

Both the Campaign Coop and Overwatch, at least for me, greatly increase the game replayability, since me and a friend can mess around.

I have not played survival mode yet.
I already completed and got Gold on all the Shooting Range also.

Final Thoughts
Overall, the game was pretty good. I'd probably give it an 8/10 score, maybe an 8.5 / 10.
The $49.99 price tag right now is too high. If you plan on getting it, wait until it's $20 or lower.

(I don't have ANY of the DLC. Just adding this.)

(Note: Despite Lower Game time on steam, I also own the Retail Version that I played alot.)

The game did improve some things, including giving you a few new weapons (sorry, no soul cube this time). New Artifact, Grabber, and Double Barrel Shotgun are a major plus.

And only during 1 part when you're walking in the sewers in a suit, do you get a flashlight on your head. They did still fail to let you toggle the flashlight while you have weapons up.

At least Mods still fixed that.

The difficulty is increased in later levels when you are being swarmed by alot of enemies.
At least the new Artifact Weapon does help with this, as well as the Double Barrel Shotgun can REALLY help, allowing you to take out many strong enemies in 1 to 2 shots.

Grabber Gun allows you to catch enemy fireballs (and rockets as well) and launch them right back at the enemy.

If you liked Doom 3, you might like this with the additions.

A game where you shoot Nazi Zombies all day long. It is fun.

While it can be repetitive, the game can be more fun if you play coop with friends.
Playing with 3 other friends (4-player coop) can be more fun.

For an added challenge, play the game Solo with the number of enemies increased.
It gets really hard with 4x the enemies while only playing Solo (even when i'm playing an easy difficulty).

The Allyway on Level 2 can be unforgiving then.
Even setting up the suicide zombies to take out the other zombies, they still overrun you.

The game has it's moments, it can be fun and frustrating (like many games).

Game has many different modes, Puzzle, Battle, Push, IQ, as well a Multiplayer.
However, Multiplayer has not worked since i bought the game years ago.

50 Puzzle Stages (although some are really hard). They give you conditions you have to beat in xx amount of time.
I originally got stuck on Stage 21, even weeks on and off playing, still couldn't beat it.
Now stuck on Stage 41.

Battle Mode has 6 Difficulties to play on (some you will have to spend ingame Cubes to unlock).
Easy, Normal, Hard, Extreme, Geek Play, and Self (uses your data).
Geek Play has 6 options to choose from: Clone, Star, Stone, Big, Rush, and Hell.

Push Mode has 6 Difficulties to play on (like Battle Mode).
Easy, Normal, Hard, Extreme, Geek Play, and Self.
Geek Play has 2 options to choose from: One Color and Hell.

IQ Mode basically gives you Puzzles to complete.
IQ Mode has 3 Difficulties: Easy, Normal, and Hard.
Easy Mode has 40 Puzzles (5 Pages of 8 Puzzles).
Normal Mode has 92 Puzzles (11 Pages of 8 Puzzles, + 4 more on Page 12)
Hard Mode has 83 Puzzles (10 Pages of 8 Puzzles, + 3 more on Page 11)

If you want a casual game and don't mind puzzles, you should like this game.
Just note that Multiplayer doesn't work, or I haven't been able to get it to work.

I remember when i Originally bought this (retail back in 2004), i couldn't play it, due to video card.
I had to resort to playing at 640 x 480, lowest EVERYTHING, while using EVERY LITTLE Graphical Tweak I could.

Game may not have looked good when i played it, but at least i could play it.

Now a days, i can play it fine without problems (although i can't run it with sikkmod yet.)

Game was fun to play, but wasn't that scary, despite what they said in 2004. FEAR was more scarier.

Playing this with the 3rd Party "Last Man Standing" coop mod is also fun.

I remember making some fun mods when I was bored (Retail Version).
Like guns holding WAY more ammo than normal (Shotgun holding 64 for example), guns do more damage (also changed the # of projectiles of the shotgun with each projectile doing more damage and much much lower spread), etc.

I remember I was able to change the Machine Gun for example to shoot (active) hand grenades.
It was fun to Troll the AI in campaign with that.

I also remember changing the pistol to shoot BFG shots (yes, each shot fired 1 bfg shot).

Doom 3 was a fun game overall (even if the AI at many times is stupid).
I just hope Doom 4 Improves ALOT of things, while at the same time, stick to the old school Doom Gaming (not CoDish).

This game Improved many things over Crysis.
+ Upgraded Energy System and Suit.
o Ability to Cloak while running fast with Speed, and Jumping High with Power.
o (Contiued from last one) Combinding Suit Abilities helps out get through some areas / speed past them.
+ Ability to upgrade parts of the suit was also very nice.
+ Campaign wasn't super long, but at least it wasn't shorter than 5 hours.
+ Decent amount of guns to choose from, although i stuck with 3 in general.

A few things i didn't like:
- Cutscenes aren't skipable, which is annoying, mostly on 2nd and 3rd playthroughs.
- You uncloak if you go for a Stealth Kill, which shouldn't happen (at least in Campaign).
- Sometimes, enemies can see you even while you're cloaked and you're not by them.

But overwall, it was a good game. Haven't played much Multiplayer yet.

Without customizing your game, the game is very hard, and too frustrating to play.

I would avoid it.
I tried to give it a chance, but i gave up. Only really "played it" for the Winter 2011 Event.
