Fun. Please, for the love of god, customize your controls, learn them, and don't be an annoying sale player that asks how you jump or why E doesn't open doors. Play the campaign, then start adding mods. Do multiplayer. Get some DLCs. Be warned, this isn't like most shooters. It is a semi-simulation with a slower pace than Call Of Duty 16, or whatever is most recent when you read this. Good game made better by modding community.

Edit: Now at 700 hours as of 8/4/20, what I said still stands. I'd just like to warn anyone that the mission editor, 3DEN, is very powerful but not beginner friendly, myself having a similar experience using it as I did for Photoshop. Starting off with basics is easy and can allow you to have a lot of fun, but the advanced stuff is where the real good times come from. Customize your controls, especially the grenade throw option. Make it 2x "G", or whatever you'd like it to be. I singlehandedly ruined a convoy ambush on an AntiStasi op by accidentally pressing G. Official zeus/gamemaster servers are extremely fun with the right players, but griefers are a problem, such as the infamous "my finger slipped" teamkiller or that game-mod that joins mid op and spams submarines and cluster shells. I'd definitely advise gifting this to a friend that's into shooters, even if they say they don't want it. Your friend will have a good time, assuming you help them get into the game, or even pass a .cfg along to them with your favorite HUD and FOV. You can also find me ingame as kindg or jbed, depending on what loadouts I feel like using.
