Almost everything I wanted from a true DMC sequel. The writing wasn't quite what I was hoping for but everything else is stellar. Fun enemies to fight, great bosses, tons of combat mechanics and weapons to sink your teeth into, challenging difficulty (start on Devil Hunter if you're a seasoned player), lots of replayability, some good music, amazing graphics and visual effects that are well optimized; this is the complete package. I have few criticisms with the gameplay besides the targeting system being frustratingly similar to DMC4 instead of 3, V's gameplay being too loose and somewhat simple, and no turbo mode. Also while I prefer DMC4's art style, I can appreciate the more realistic aesthetic with 5.
Overall I am plenty satisfied with DMC5 and it's a contender for the best game in the series and even for GOTY. Can't recommend it enough.
