It's a great game overall, but the performance leaves a lot to be desired. It runs okay as long as your city doesn't get too big. Also, it crashed twice in the first 3h of gameplay. It runs on deck though, which is good compared to CS1 which just crashed the deck for me, be it just on very low with about 20 fps. A city builder does not have to run at very high fps, but what should you expect at high people counts, if you don't even get 60 FPS stable on a 3080 on an empty map with nothing built at all?

Leaving performance aside, it's still fun and a great game. It's harder than CS1, which is a good thing IMO, it feels a lot more rewarding. The new road tools are great, though the new snapping can sometimes be a bit annoying. especially when trying to upgrade a road to a bigger road or when trying to symmetrically attach smaller roads to bigger roads with more lanes or roundabouts. Also, I wish there was a way to force the new cut-and-fill roads, it's a bit finicky to build them at the moment,

If you're thinking about buying the game, consider waiting a few weeks/months, maybe until the console release, and then look at the performance again. Maybe buy it, download a big city safe e.g. from GameStar and see how it runs for yourself and refund if you don't like it.

Runs basically the same on Linux as it does on Windows. Never once crashed for me. Game itself has been great so far, loads of fun. Performance was a bit underwhelming though. Thought i could at least run somewhat with raytraycing with a 3080 but as soon as i enable it, i get 5 Minutes of stable 60Fps, then the VRAM fills up and it drops to 5-15 Fps. Thats kinda sad.

An sich bereits ein sehr gutes Spiel, es gibt nur ein riesiges Problem mit dem Multiplayer:
Die großen Stellwerke sind eigentlich immer komplett verstopft. E sbräuchte eine Möglichkeit, z.B. nach Abstimmung bestimmt Züge löschen zu können, damit nach Fehlbedienung des Stellwerks ein kompletter Gridlock verhindert und der Stau wieder aufgelöst werden kann. Sonst stehen am Ende einfach alle immer nur vor Roten Signalen.

Definitely still Counter-Strike, definitely a good foundation to build on, and definitely loads of fun. Still has a lot of problems though. The ranks in general are still not good. Used to be Master Guardian in CS:GO, am now Silver 2-Silver 4 on different maps in competitive, and most games are either super easy or super hard, there's rarely close matches ever for me. Premiere has a lot more close matches, but it does not feel rewarding if you win and just get 100 Rating points if you lose the next one and get 500 withdrawn, no matter your performance in the game.

Also: Where the f has arms race gone???
