Amazing game!

The idea of collecting pages of the game's manual and letting them guide you through the game is genius. Progress isn't gated only by the tools you gather but by the knowledge you gain aswell (it's part-"metroidbrainia", if you will)
It's a soulslike-ish indie game on the surface but don't let that be a deterrent - it's not a particularly difficult game and the game gives you a lot of tools to overcome anything. Really the game's about unlocking it's secrets. The rabbit hole goes deep, but you only need go in as deep as you want, and I found the 100% really satisfying to complete. Everything you need is in that manual, you might need to make a few notes with pen & paper but nothing too crazy.

Roughly 50 cents per game and they're all good, what's not to like?

Standouts in no particular order:
Party House
Quibble Race
Bushido Ball
Ninpek
Night Manor
Waldorf's Journey
Mooncat
Elfazar's Hat
Valbrace
Magic Garden
Bug Hunter
Warptank

It's a good game. After 100%:ing I felt it suffered from overused content (too many repeated bosses), even though most of it was optional. NG+ feels low effort, I dropped the game because everything dies in a couple of hits and now it just feels like a pointless grind to get to the DLC.

Why am I leaving a negative review?

Because the game launched over two years ago, and still suffers from the same technical issues from launch.

It's *the current year* ffs, we shouldn't have to choose between being able to play online vs. having to fix your game with mods to unlock the FPS, have ultrawide support, FOV slider and so on.

What a great game.
A lot like Lies of P - this is a banger from a mostly unknown studio that is shadowed by it's own inspiration, but both do whatever they sought to do so well, that they stand out from the plethora of clones.
And to be honest, these two are the only ones that have managed to do that for me, to a point of surpassing their inspiration in some ways.

Wish there was a bit more to it, but overall a decent game. The art style carries it. 7/10

Negative review until they punish plugging. Just automatically mark the match as a loss for the disconnected player like in every other online game.

After recent tweets I'm not holding my breath, they're even bragging about having a excel sheet of people who are getting their rank reset. It's embarrassing.

Oh yeah and introducing a mtx store after the review embargo is a ♥♥♥♥ move, but whatever.

E: So yeah that wasn't enough and they implemented one of the worst battle passes I've ever seen, so they can sell you all the old stuff from T7 and some low effort cr@p. They really dropped the ball* with this one. And the first DLC character is of course overtuned as hell so people are more likely to buy it. You think you can just lab him right? Nah you gotta buy it to do that.

*Blender default sphere because f you you'll buy it anyway

Amazing, short, surreal puzzle game in an alien world. Took me a bit over 4 hours to complete. Probably best to go in with knowing as little as possible.

Just a really well designed game. I loved how everything is taught to you intuitively. All you do is move and press A to interact.
The boss fights were one of my favourite parts, they just throw you a completely new gameplay mechanic that you never use again after that.

It's not a very demanding puzzler, it does get gradually more complex but I never felt stumped. Instead of "daymn I'm clever" it's more like a "daymn this game is clever" type of game. It kinda felt like it ended just when the puzzles started to get interesting though.

If you like this game, but wish it were more puzzle-y, then check out Patrick's Parabox.

Pretty fun gameplay mechanic with unfortunately a pretty underwhelming game built on top of it. The game never really offered new mechanics or evolved in any way. There was too much emphasis put on the story (told via in-game cutscenes and speech bubbles) when I feel they should've focused more on the gameplay. I can't say I cared about any of it, it was more like something I finished for the sake of it.

Probably the best non-fromsoft-soulslike out there. This actually belongs up there with Sekiro, Elden Ring and the rest.
In a sea of mediocre PC ports this year, this game also runs like magic and looks great, which is something I can't say of anything Fromsoft puts out.

Played through NG+, well worth it.

Based on the demo, I had bigger expectations. For 20€, it's very short, 4 chapters only, around 3 hours of playtime (+ optional arena game mode).
The campaign consists of combat arenas, and some very light platforming to move to them. There's only 3 (-ish?) bosses which are repeated throughout the game multiple times. The combat is fun but it's basically just the same ol' Arkham's "spam attack until you parry or dodge" + some environmental stuff like knocking enemies into things or throwing stuff at them.
Like I said, it's fun, but I'm not sure if it's enough to warrant the asking price, or if there's much longevity here. The story and characters are a joke aswell.

Good game, but wait for a sale, IMO.
