Early Access Review
[08/04/2022] I am editing this review but keeping it negative. Overall, I cannot support VRChat for a number of reasons. The EAC did a lot of damage to the community, the EAC doesn't fix things yet it's staying in, the VRChat devs are covering up the damage to make things look better for investors, they add features that mods have had for years and don't give any credit to those that kept people in the game for years, they only added in features when the community rioted and used the features being added as a publicity stunt to make them look better, they censored people with constructive criticism, and they have become a corporate company that focusing only on what their investors desire.

VRChat isn't what it used to be. I have been around since 2017 when I first got on at my University using my friends account. I got my own account in 2018 and started running around the worlds at home. I am a long term player and I can say, this game is not what it used to be. It deserves all the hate it's been getting.

I'm moving over to Chillout because there I feel like I can belong. I feel like the devs actually care and though it's going to be a bumpy ride, as people have been attacking smaller dev teams because modders want to mod, we will get through it. Just as a Youtuber said, VRChat messed up and gave the community a reason to try other Social VR Games.

I say to you, who reads this. Even if you stick with VRChat, try CVR or even Neos. There is more then just VRChat and competition is not a bad thing. VRChat and Chillout are two completely different systems now. You might find something great in Chillout, now is the time to try it (being around 8/07/2022 because the devs are working on their server at the time of typing this). I wish VRChat the best and I look forward to the future of VR.

[9/16/2022] As of this date, I am casually playing the game once more but I still cannot recommend it due to the damage they did to my trust. I still like CVR way more but it's ok to play more then one VR Social Game. The devs at VRChat have tried to fix their mistakes, they are actively trying to communicate and given they didn't just throw out claims and immediately take it back has given me enough reason to return to the platform cautiously.

The other reason I cannot recommend it is the people that lost the ability to play the game or it has become so unbearable they stopped playing (lag, crashing, ect). The game obviously needs optimizations and until everyone that used to play can play once more without problem, this review will stay negative.
