I rarely write review but I feel compelled to write one for RD2 so here we go.

First and foremost, Red Dead Online has so much potential, and would easily take over GTA:O, but R* just doesn't care about anything that isn't GTA:O or $$$ (which doesn't make sense since this game could easily rake in money). Anywho, I digress, this game is a must buy if you love story games, open world, or rpg type. If you've ever played GTA, The Witcher, Dragon Age, etc. then this is a 100% cop. While, like most gaming experiences, the story gets off to a slow start, it'll inevitably captivate you, and if not the story then the atmosphere. The atmosphere that R* has created will leave you in awe. It feels like you're actually in the wilderness, the modern complexities of life wash away and it's just you, your horse, and the open frontier. Traversing the landscape becomes much more rewarding than GTA, the scenery, wildlife, AI interactions. It just feels more whole to me than GTA V did, plus with this games soundtrack, you'll end up ditching your PC and start to play the guitar at random campfires.

To organize my thoughts better and for those that don't like reading paragraphs:

Pros:

-Great atmosphere (landscape, wildlife, setting)
-Amazing, period setting soundtrack
-Attractable story and character personalities
-Boah
-If you've never played RD1, it doesn't matter much as this game is a prequel
-Gun play is entertaining, especially with dead eye. Your loadout is entirely preference based, even in Online to a degree. There isn't one clear gun everyone uses to ruin peoples day (arguably Carcano rifle) like the Oppressor, Deluxo, Fighter Jets in GTA
-The single player missions, whether main or side, leave you wanting to play them. It adds to the immersion of the game, as well as removing the tedious aspect of many other games' missions. You feel like you're contributing.
-Hunting/exploring is rewarding and fun. If you get burnt and want to just relax for a while, take yourself on a little hunting trip.

Cons:

-Little to no new content ever to RD:O
-After the underwhelming story missions of online, there isn't much to do than the repetition of roles and stranger missions.
-Support is non-existent or just lazy (as for most R* titles)
-Require a beefier PC (will turn into a space heater for long sessions)
-Controls, especially on horseback, are interesting. Very much preference based (mnk vs controller). Not so much a con as a little inconvenience to adapt to
-1900's items at a 21st century value in online. You'll be looking in the catalog and wonder why a hat is $300, a pistol $500, but ammo is 60c for 20 rounds.
-Most any con is online related

I'll update this as I see fit, if i forget anything I want to add, but as of right now this is the best brief list I could create.
