Just. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Buy it.

This is the most fun I've had in an fps since the OTHER tf2 (team fortress 2). And that's saying a lot.

The campaign is incredible, and while short, it shows Respawn Entertainment's prowess to create one of the BEST gameplay experiences ever made. The combat is quick, responsive, and satisfying, and at the same time you genuinely feel the enemies aren't just things for you to shoot. They travel in squads, shout commands to each other, and actually display emotion when they see you and are fully fearful for their lives. The parkour is really really REALLY fun. Think Mirror's Edge: Catalyst plus a CS:GO surf map, with some shooty shooty involved as well. Wallriding feels great, doublejumps are perfect, and they mesh to create a feeling of you actually traversing, not just following a path set by the devs. Sometimes I found myself wishing the parkour wasn't so fast so I could enjoy the GORGEOUS scenery more. The graphics hold up today, almost 4 years later, and the level and world design is immaculate(Significantly prettier than Apex, but that's just IMO). The story is honestly the worst aspect of this game, and it's not even bad. It's just a basic sci-fi rebels vs. large entity war, with a big planet destroying weapon that a prodigy, accidentally thrust into battle, has to elimanate. You get it. Nothing super inspiring, but it doesn't detract from the game by any means. There are plot twists, and parts where it does actually subvert your expectations, and the main character and his titan enjoy some witty banter and touches of dark humour, making you love their accidental pairing until the end. The scenarios you actually play out are so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ cool. That's honestly the best term for it. Whether you're parkouring between the past and the present over a fiery chasm, or your titan throwing you between giant spaceships and having a giant boss battle atop one, every level in the campaign has it's own special mechanic, and it ALWAYS feels new.

Even if you don't care for pvp at all, buy this game just for the campaign.

Speaking of PVP...

Combat is fast paced and intense while still being fun! I run grapple and EVA-8 and just swing around maps at high speed laying shotgun blasts into people's faces, and the satisfaction i get from kills is on par with Doom 2016's campaign, and that's saying a LOT. The most played gamemode is basically just a team deathmatch, but with titans. If you're all about strategy and camping and holding positions, the pvp in this game probably isn't gonna be your favourite. You're always running, jumping, and wallrunning, hunting for people to kill. Hip firing is extremely effective and is actually viable, and as a shotgun user, I go whole games without ADSing once. It's all about speed and reaction times and aim. Think Quake 3 + Mirror's Edge + Spiderman(if you use the grapple pilot like any sane person). One of my personal favourite things is that there's almost zero luck involved. When you get to the top of the leaderboard it feels like you've earned it. You feel like you're really effing good at the video game, and that makes people always want to play, because at the base level, this game is just fun. Very very fun.

So please,

Buy this game.

You will thank yourself.
