After 200+ hours in this game, in a simple sense, it has opened my eyes to what might be my future career of a politician/world leader. Sid Meier’s Civilization V, in my opinion, is better than its further brother, Sid Meier’s Civilization VI. In the reason that it is simple, easy to catch on/ analyze, learn, and enjoy – especially with the ultimate bundle. The re-playability is %100 with many leaders included as well as many scenarios, challenges, and victories to play and pursue.

Not knowing what a turn based strategy game would deliver (also me coming as a 14-year old playing Civ. Rev. on Xbox 360), I bought this game with high hopes. This game changed my ideas of world perspective and helped me with school subjects with its direct and indirect political and historical terms, wonders, and political action.

Bearing down to the in-depth pros and cons:

Pros:
- Variety of playstyles, leaders, and scenarios (re-playability).
- Choice of game length, as well as adaptive multi-player timer (adapts turn timer with units & other aspects).
- Very good music and aesthetic view overall.
- Easy progression, fair-to-easy controls and macros.
- Very nice leader scenes and vocal lines accurately presenting cultures, languages, and relationships with your civ based off actions.
- Fair and easy combat system basing off realistic geographical points (i.e. attacking over a river is a disadvantage, being on a hill gives you advantage etc.).
- Full social policy system depicting your civilization’s path of progress as well as a technology tree.
- Independent city states with personalities and missions.
- Religion system (in DLC).

Cons:
- Games can be over extensive, even for the “Quick” game option.
- City States at some points feel pointless and don’t give much purpose/don’t do much in combat or wars for allies (unnecessary “[City State] has declared war on [Civilization]” with rare action against that civ. (They are only good for DLC world council).
- Some AI logic in the game doesn’t exactly correlate to common political sense (i.e. hard friendships to gain, immediate acceptance to open borders, demanding all of your resources/gold for 1 luxury).
- Title screen does take long to load in some instances, but there is a “Skip Beginning Cutscene” option which is good.
- Physical trade only comes in one of the DLC packs, other than that, most of your income has to come from economic buildings or trade deals.
- Multi-Player games can crash/reset sometimes, can also sometimes not be re-loaded when getting to late game.

If you are new to these kinds of games, or just coming back to a hit in the series to get a buy for the library, I would highly consider this game to anyone who has extra time on their hands and is willing to learn this game.
