Durge roleplay for the win

ramblings about OG EA review
I legit find funny when i wrote my first Early Access review saying this game had GOTY potential, and could TOP DOS2 from Larian as best RPG ever made, and some people disagreed with me. Now this is the first game to win every major GOTY award with real weight behind the prize. I'm genuinely happy for Larian, it's somewhat funny my first game i bought in
steam was Divinity II original cut...a really nice travel with your fav studio growth.

Positive traits
- I should start with PEAK ROLEPLAY choices.
- Legit good date sim for those who enjoy it(Shadowcutie, Astarion,Minthara,Karlach,Halsin) your pick.
- Clever usage of scenarios and builds. You can literally change quest outcomes, fights, exploration of the map and etc.
- Can you pet the Dog in this game? Better you can pet the DOG & the Owlbear at same time :D
- I Loved the final battle they brought a "Real treasure were the friends along the way" You pretty much can change how you do it based in every choice you made in the game.
- The game gets constant patches and fixes which in my opinion increased content in a really good light, the new animations for your romantic pair made me reload some saves to enjoy the wholesome updates, and in my new adventures i love the sweet traits.
- I defend the epilogue with every fiber of my bones.
- Lastly and not least important, I enjoyed multiclass everyone with a Bard Lvl and play around ACT 3. That's something i highly recommend everyone to do, besides the achievement of 100 coins. It a legit great hidden mechanic in the game :D.

Negative Traits
- Personally i find the use of tadpoles somewhat cut content, you get that ugly af looks, but thats about it, nobody comments on your veiny face and there isnt a downside, besides looking ugly af.
- While i played the coop, i wont recommend for it, 'cause while it was my own problem, i tried with 4 different groups but everytime the campaign fell throught due to someone doing other stuff and with time forgetting about the save.... and its somewhat a big game, so personally i had a better experience playing alone than coop.
- You might not want to leave your house, go to work, go to gym, forget to eat, 'cause the story and gameplay is addicting. I wont recommend for you to do that.
- You're going raise your standards for a lot of things after playing this, to a point where you wont feel comfortable paying 70$ in a game which offers less than an indie game sold by 60$
- At your own risk, if you go for 100% achievement, you're going to have nightmares with tentacles...so keep that in mind.

My opinion about my journey's choices as Durge, i liked TAV, but Durge wins in roleplay anyday.(only section of the review with spoilers)

To start it off, you have two main paths as Durge, be an evil Durge, which lets your dark desires consuming you.(enjoyed it more) or fight back against your inner evil to achieve "Your sins are your own now, without the influence of your father".

My choices, as evil Durge were funny, actually wasn't so lonely, but i did a lot of gashlight in the campaign. Hacking off Gale's hand, Karlach's Head, Open the Door to tiefling camp and say to Zevlor "It's just a prank bruh xD". Which actually pays off, romancing Minthara in an Evil run was def worth after they fixed her and the new romance patch, The way you both end as a couple with "Redflags? Whatever makes him/her even hotter" for each other and i found that on point(fun fact she is the only companion not mind controlled when you control the brain at the end).

Getting the Slayer form brutalizing Isobel was unique to say the least, The duel with Orin and the new Orin interactions while exploring ACT 3, was in my opinion one of the best traits to see the game in the eyes of Durge instead of TAV, the gameplay itself of Durge is very interesting too, the cape which makes you invisible after every kill is one of best items ever, RIP Alfira but this is legit one of best items in the game.

Somewhat due to the fact Durge was the guy who stole the crown of Karsus from mephistoles, i think we lacked some funny puns with Raphael while storming his house besides "Harleep says you're bad in bed xD". (Legit love the theme song for Raphael).

I found interesting i did mostly for the roleplay purpose, but you can Arabela yeet herself of life which is a kid, but when you get to Act 3, you can kill two children controlling an automaton, and the cherry on top was the ginger girl you found strayed from her mother which liked you, Orin sacrifices her in front of you if Durge disregard the Kid importance(Astarion and Minthara approval seal), after defeating Orin you can use speak with the Dead in the girl and get some extra Grim Dialogues. In this game you can be so evil, as in fact killing children without mods. I was legit amazed by this and did mostly for the roleplay of evil lord and stuff, but the fact it's in the game crackled me up a bit NGL.

Lastly i find interesting, Durge's hair, changes with blood, only char in the game with this unique trait. Very nice cosmetic trait.

@Hatake its complicated, BG3 delivered something Fable did in the past, i enjoyed being truly evil. Most games i just feel "meh".

Yeah, really good review. So accurate in the negative section (despite I'm not getting nightmares from tentacles. I watch a lot of anime :lunar2019laughingpig:) and interesting aspects you mention. I really have to get more into the durge play. But it's quite hard for me to be an evil lord - even if it's just a game. But it is an outstandingly fun & immersive one for sure.
