The tutorial is not great - it throws walls of text at users and calls it day. Game is very easy and while marked as "strategy" is closer to an idle game, especially late game. Has some performance issues as well when loading payloads, etc. Out of my "90 hours" on steam, only about 30 of those are real - the other 60 hours was running the game in the background for the last two "total launch achievements". The numbers were set as both a meme and to inflate playtime. Half the achievements are for just naming your CEO / company. $20 is too much for the *actual* content the game offers

Early Access Review
Its Robocraft but worse.... and current Robocraft is worse than Robocraft from 2016. Why does this even exist? I'll never understand what this developer is doing, it is super obvious what their users want yet years later their games keep getting lower quality.

A simple and relaxing puzzle game with a touching story behind it. Game gets a bit repetitive (the main mechanic does not change really), however if you play just a few rounds here and there it is not an issue.

The different clans provide a lot of different play styles and the game has grown a lot larger since I got it. DLC prices are overall reasonable given a round can go for a few hours - more so if you snag the DLC on sale. Main complaint is a lot of the achievements are overly grinding. Remember how I said rounds could go for a few hours? Each clan has an achievement for winning 50 times, and there are additional achievements for winning upwards of 1000 total games I believe, which feels a bit excessive.

Early Access Review
Overall the game is quite fun, and it should be noted that this is still Early Access so some quirks are to be expected.

A few positives include nice graphics, good exploration, decent research, and being overall fun. It reminds me in some ways of if Fallout Shelter and Terraria mixed.

A few current negatives that are likely to be fixed down the road include some iffy commands (can't control the AI as precisely as I would like), AI getting stuck sometimes, and AI not using healing items or reviving allies very intelligently. Specifically, it would appear that they don't use the item "Mushroom Paste" very effectively. Trade could also use some improvements, crafting late game meals requires overworld resources but you can't automate trade so you have to manually go and click through to resupply the materials you use a ton of from trade. The jobs panel also could use a rework (it says it will be) as it is not helpful for showing each AI's skill level excluding tools. Again, I expect that this will get fixed down the line.

Overall, the game is making good progress with updates from what I have read, it just needs to refinement. With 13 hours in it I feel I have gotten my value from it, but I got it as part of my Humble Classic subscription. I think the normal $25 is quite steep, $15 would be a more "fair" price compared to other games I have played.

Early Access Review
So far is enjoyable for the most part, however there are some glaring issues with troops and some issues with walls. I will leave my remarks on the issues I have run into, but considering the game is still in very early access and just had its first major update a few days ago I think it will be a very good game later down the road, and it is still enjoyable right now.

Troops will sometimes just ignore orders, or get stuck on nothing. Saw a unit stuck and then a building walk right through the same spot so that was something.

I pretty much had to give up on my current world as the archers completely broke, they got stuck coming off of a wall resulting in me losing several buildings in my core area on that night, and afterwards they refused to go on any wall again, just the archers. Infantry would still go on the wall but really you are keeping archers there.

Walls and towers are weirdly buggy / displayed in game under certain conditions, and you can see this in the screenshots on the store page. Walls that are different height will not add any stairs or whatever to connect them, but it will look like they should connect. This can make hills a bit annoying to build over. Towers will add doors on sides where the walls are shorter, however it won't allow troops through and so just looks bad since it is just hovering then. It will also add doors if the wall is a a T1 palisade, which has no rampart to stand on. Some weird behavior that will hopefully get fixed by the developer. An option to add/remove wall doors for the towers would be nice as it would mean you could fix that and segment your walls if desired. Also if you build a gate on a hill the drawbridge is essentially floating.

Siege engines can't be controlled / set to target stuff, and will target enemies even if they can't hit them (for example a building is in the way).

The game is quite fun overall, and has a lot better mechanics overall compared to the first game. With that said, the main addition to this game really is multiplayer. It is a lot of fun being able to play the game with friends (I got 4 of my other friends to buy the game). PvP can be a little problematic as it can end up in a really tough stalemate for a good chunk of time until one person can break through.

I would for sure recommend this game for groups of friends looking for a unique little RTS to play

This is an edit of my earlier review, in which I addressed my concerns over a heavy amount of crashing which resulted in me giving a temporary negative review. If you are experiencing crashing, add an exception to your Anti-Virus for the game executable file. I have AVG and this fixed all game crashes for me. Hopefully they patch this issue later

With that note aside, the game is great (I owned it on the Xbox 360 before this). Runs above 100fps for me consistently with all graphics maxed, however cut-scenes are locked at 30fps.

I also want to mention that when you buy the game here, you also get it on Origin. Some people are making a huge fuss over this as I believe it is not optional, but keep in mind even older games like Dragon Age Origins link to Origin from Steam. This is not a new concept, all Ubisoft game can / do link to Uplay as well. Personally, I don't care so long as I get Steam features but it is something to keep in mind if you don't like that setup.

EDIT: They added achievements

I spent about 11 hours to beat the game, including getting every single collectible in the game. By far one of the best smaller adventure RPG games I have played in years. The story is great (Ed Greenwood was the writer btw). The spell-crafting system is fun and works great, each person can develop their own preferences (although some combinations of runes are MUCH better and let you blitz through areas no problem). 10/10 would love a sequel.

The game is short, however it is very fun and relaxing. I bought it during the summer sale and I feel it was worth it during that ($0.89). All of the achievements are reasonable and possible to get (The rarest one over 6% of people have). It has nice, calm music and a very relaxing atmosphere that I greatly appreciated.
