Dominions 6 is definitely the next iteration of the series.
The quality of life improvements are welcome to any veteran of the series, I also think its a very good version to get into at this time as the multiplayer scene seemed to have really boomed. Its quite an accomplishment with the lobby, as someone who has been playing since the first game it is really amazing to see how easy it is to play with others and have so many active communities.

I personally was debated for a bit due to the idea that is essentially the same game and a bit of a high price tag.
It is more a problem if you have been playing Dominions for a while but overall its a good improvement over the last one.
Given the track record of Illwinter, they have proven to support each release for years.

Nice Graphic Novel / Survival game.
Game did a pretty good job at capturing what it feels like to be the captain of a dangerous expedition to the Antarctic. Tough decisions for a tough mission

My only issue with it is something that is hard to explain without spoiling the game.
The way they integrated a certain system into the game for when you finished a playthrough really breaks the whole immersion to me.

Let's just say that with that mechanic and "how it affects the story's ending" just makes my first playthrough and subsequent ones fairly insignificant in the grand scheme of things. It demotivates you from playing in my opinion. (It's kinda how it felt after Season 3 of Lost lol)

Early Access Review
The gameplay is really good! It does feel like a modern Settlers that we have all been waiting for. However this is one of the rare reviews that I will not recommend until it is out of early access. Been burnt out by way too many of the city-builders. Refunded for the time being.

This title shows a lot of promise if they can deliver. However in its current state I can’t see going over 4-5hrs of played time before getting bored.

The price for which it is sold should at least contain a bit more content, right now it feels more like a completed proof of concept and gameplay (which is very solid)

The Good
+ You have the whole (or most) Economy Concept ready and implemented. It's good and really feels like a descendant of the Settlers Genre

+ The randomized map engine provides good replayability

+ Nice Graphics. Attractive to the eye

The Bad
- There is no campaign or storyline at the moment; all you can do is play a map that is either premade or generated

- Buildings aren't distinct and unique enough, you can sometimes build the wrong building because it looks alike or the buildings get lost in your city and you sometimes forgot you build a workshop or school.

- The UI is fairly bare-bones, it would be handy to have more tooltips and explanation of the UI as well as a stats page or something similar to keep track of everything.

- Sense of progression feels a bit bland. All you do is just build Guard Towers and that's it. No interactions with the world really. It just feels like you are there and expanding but there isn't much purpose. The objectives depending on the map could just be something like "Be friends with all AI factions on the map" and that's about it. You don't really feel a need to go further down the food production chain or any tertiary products

Early Access Review
Amazing city-builder with roguelike elements.

Gameplay is very similar to a blend of these following games:
Banished, Kingdoms Reborn, Settlers, Anno, Cultures

You manage an expedition of settlers and are tasked to settle a new city. There are various objectives that are given to you during missions which you can complete for additional materials and reputation. After reaching a certain amount of reputation points, you complete the mission. You have to manage housing, food, and industry. They did an amazing job at programming the AI, the UI is very intuitive and I did not have any issues assigning tasks and priorities to the workers.

The twist is that they included roguelike mechanics into it.
Its a really fresh take on the city-builder genre, it allows a lot of replayability

You are tasked to fight the Blightstorm and the world will reset itself after the storm happens
The campaign is split into a world map where you can decide where you want to settle new cities.
Eventually as you create cities and years go by (turns), it will reset the world map.
However you will be able to invest into new technologies in your capital which will make your life easier as the game goes on.
Each mission in the campaign will be different due to the randomized nature of objectives and available techs (They have a randomized card system to unlock building chains during missions)

There are going to be moments where luck gives you a horrible tech tree that's horrible for the current mission but you can still pull through if you adapt to the situation. I haven't ran into a situation where I felt I had lost a game due to the RNG

TL:DR If you've been looking for something new in the city-builder genre, I would definitely recommend a buy. If you enjoyed these games: Banished, Kingdoms Reborn, Settlers, Anno, Cultures. You would definitely like this one

It is unfortunately the lowest common denominator within your friends and your libraries

The pain and suffering is eternal but there is no escape

I felt bad when I refunded your game as I thought it was too buggy and needed time to polish...

Now that you are releasing the game out of Early Access and the reviews are saying you still haven't fixed bugs that were from your Early Access... Disappointing...

You have a great concept, a fresh take on the city building concept. Don't let this be a broken mess

If you liked the graphic style of games like: Deponia, Gilbert Goodmate, Curse of Monkey Island, Night of the Rabbit and The Whispered World then you will enjoy this game. Feels a loot like going through a 1990s album comic book of European origins.

Since the game was developed in Germany, a lot of the complaints about voice acting is resolved if you play the game in German with subtitles. The world feels more immersive if you switch the voice-overs, it seems that the english voice actors weren't really good at their job.

Otherwise the plot is kind of "If Greta was right" type of deal, the puzzles aren't illogical to the point where you will get stuck for days, the progression is nice. There are a few minor glitches left and right, such as the audio swapping languages randomly but I have not encountered anything game breaking.

This game takes about 6-8hrs to wrap up without the use of a walkthrough. And as per adventure games, its replayability depends on how good you are at forgetting haha.

TIP: If you are trying to 100% the game, do multiple saves per chapter, you will thank me later

Rise of Industry

What is it?
A Business/Logistics Simulation Tycoon game which is an amalgamation of Railroad Tycoon, OpenTTD, and a bit of ANNO but is essentially unique on its own. You will be incarnating an entrepreneur around the times of the Industrial Revolution.

How does it play?
There is a demand for goods from Markets and Shops in Cities. You create a production chain to produce the said goods and then you organize them to deliver efficiently all while respecting your balance sheet to avoid going bankrupt. There is somewhat of a city-building aspect to it, as you can help a Town grow as you supply what it needs. The town will grow and the city will develop on its own and expand, but the player has the option to select which is the type of "shop" they want open in the city as it grows.

The UI and Gameplay is really reminiscent of Railroad Tycoon/OpenTTD, everything is placed nicely in an isometric view, controls are well made. The tutorial is okay and does the job into getting you into the game. The gameplay loop revolves around managing your balance sheet to break even, researching the Tech Tree to get to the end game which is a car prototype, creating new production chains to meet demands and contracts (quests) and looking out after logistical and production efficiency.

Would you recommend and why?
Yes, its a good tycoon game that fills the itch of being an entrepreneur. However, you should not get this game thinking it is a sequel to Railroad Tycoon/OpenTTD, while it does have logistics inside, it is not a game focused on logistics.

This game is made for people that enjoy rogue-like and card games. It's unique enough to be a genre on its own and it has spawned a multitude of other games try to copy on its success.

Stands the test of time very well, one of those games that are also amazingly portable!

Financially this game has been receiving free updates for years now and there hasn't been any DLCs yet, these developers deserve full support.
