I was really excited to play this after Shredder's Revenge but this is an absolute pile of garbage.
All the characters are identical, gameplay is impossibly slow and sluggish for a side scrolling beat em up, somehow against all odd the performance is abysmal.
There are no redeeming qualities whatsoever.
Not only is this not a buy now game it is a buy never game.

===Updated===
Patch 1 fixed most if not all of the issues with the AI, damage scaling, and the glaring bugs.

=====================
The original Stalker felt like a living world where you were rewarded for cunning and punished harshly for your mistakes.
Where stalker 2 fails is on its Ai spawns and behavior. I suspected enemies were spawning out of thin air but I couldn't verify until I watched a group of 4 soldiers blip into existence and run directly to me from across a field, ignoring mutants and dogs along the way. Furthermore there's no point in stealth in most cases because enemies will frequently id you from the window of another building while you are crouched, lights off, and in pitch black darkness.
Also the difficulty scaling is all over the place. Enemies frequently will not die from multiple head shots and often take 10+ body shots to kill. Mutants are even worse as they simply become bullet sponges with no reward for fighting.
This is either lazy game design or it simply wasn't ready for release.
Note that I haven't experienced any of the visual issues that other people have. All I've seen thus far is flickering textures on a few walls.

I'm sure some mods will come along eventually to address these issues but now is not the time to buy this game.

As a long-time fan of the franchise, I had high hopes for this installment, but was I wrong. From start to finish, this game is a trainwreck that does nothing but tarnish the once-storied reputation of the Armored Core series.

The graphics are shockingly dated. It's as if the developers took a step back in time and decided that ugly, blocky textures and jagged edges were the way to go. In an era where gaming visuals have reached unprecedented heights, Armored Core 6 looks like a relic from the 2000s for the PS3.

But graphics aren't everything, right? Well, the gameplay certainly doesn't redeem this disaster either. The controls are clunkier than ever, making piloting your mech feel like trying to steer a tank through a maze. The input lag is infuriating, and the responsiveness feels like it's stuck in quicksand.

Speaking of battles, the AI in AC6 is laughably incompetent. It's as if the enemies have received a lobotomy before each encounter. They stand there, often not even reacting to my presence until I've unleashed a barrage of attacks. It's mind-numbingly boring to face off against opponents that barely put up a fight, effectively removing any sense of challenge or excitement from the game.

And let's not forget the lackluster customization options. One of the defining features of the Armored Core series was the ability to fine-tune every aspect of your mech, tailoring it to your playstyle. In AC6, this aspect has been butchered, offering a fraction of the options we used to have. It's as if the developers decided that player choice and creativity were no longer relevant.

Oh, and the story? What story? Armored Core 6 boasts a narrative so paper-thin that even the most devoted lore enthusiasts will struggle to find any substance. It's a disjointed mess of forgettable characters spouting clichéd lines, leaving players utterly detached from the supposed stakes of the game.

To add insult to injury, Armored Core 6 reeks of lazy Japanese game design that's out of touch with the modern gaming landscape. It's as if the developers ignored years of innovation and industry progress, opting instead to rely on outdated formulas that were perhaps acceptable decades ago. While other game studios around the world are pushing boundaries, experimenting with new mechanics, and delivering immersive experiences, AC6 feels like a relic trapped in its own time capsule. This lack of evolution showcases a startling unwillingness to adapt and an ignorance of the strides that gaming has taken since the series' inception.

Armored Core 6 is an abysmal failure in almost every regard. From its archaic graphics to its abominable controls, lackluster AI, and stripped-down customization, this game betrays everything that once made the series great. As a fan, it's disheartening to see a beloved franchise treated with such disrespect. Save your money and your sanity.

Nearly every aspect of this game is completely broken or unfinished. It is missing almost every quality of life feature from nearly all other battlefield games. The UI is a complete mess. No server browser outside of portal. So if you want to play with more than 3 friends you're just out of luck. This is probably one of the best examples of "design by committee" you will ever see. Specialists are purely designed to churn out microtransaction dollars in the form of skins that will certainly be coming soon. Avoid this game until they fix some of its glaring issues. Do not pay to test a completely untested game.

Surely I can't be the only one who feels like this simplified version of GG is just churning and clunky right? I mean all the fundamental parts are there but I don't really feel like this is an improvement over previous games. I really feel like its a major step back. I get that this supposed to be a bit easier to learn but I feel like there's no real reason to even own this if you have any of the others. Also the online matching system is a mess. What's the problem with just matching with randos? Why do we need an entire pixel based mini game just to attempt to match with people that only works 1/10 times?

I'm glad to see a fresh fighting game on the scene that isn't a hinky slop fest. I'm happy this game is getting the attention it deserves. From the community and from the devs.

A very short and pointless (although very pretty) story mode will not save this dumpster fire of a micro-transaction machine.
