Attached to the 6/10 that is Sonic Gens is quite possibly the greatest Sonic related experience you can have, it's worth getting JUST for Shadow Gens

As much as I really wanted to like this game I can't think of a game that has given me a more mind numbing experience. I have no issues with it being unfaithful to the original Yume Nikkis game-play, it's a re-imagining, it can do whatever it wants, I DO however have a problem with how poorly designed said re-imagining is. The games puzzles consist of looping around a vaguely lit area until the you are able to get the thing you want and then either doing it again or getting essentially no where with the reward. I really can't tell what this game wants to be, it attempts to balance atmosphere, horror, exploration, and 3D platforming all at once and fails to do all 4 in it's own spectacular way. You're movement in this game is seemingly up to one of many genres this game attempts to be, it's inconsistent not just area to area but in a room. You are introduced in a 2.5D style of movement with jumping. Then your jump is taken away once you get to the dream world, but it's now 3D, then you get you're jump back and Madotsuki is given a ledge climb for barely missed jumps, however the ledge climbing itself is inconsistent and whatever platforms Mado could and couldn't ledge climb up was up to chance and you can only find out the answer the hard way. I'm not one to ♥♥♥♥ on a games looks due to how little I care about them, but I feel like I have to say this game doesn't exactly look good, it's pretty bad actually. The animations are stiff or misaligned with the terrain (Like the door opening animation for example) and multiple models just look very off. A lot of the puzzles in this game exist mainly due to problems that only exist because the devs didn't give you a feature every other game has, not only is this true for the jumping being taken and given away at random, but the game also has a stuck camera, even in more 3D platforming centric rooms where it's crucial to be able to see everything around you. I really like the original Yume Nikki, I like its fangames, I like when people take the world of Yume Nikki and put it into different genres, I don't like how this game does it. TL;DR, it's bad.

its just bad, even for free, hard for new players to get into due to the perks system and extremely slow and floaty. Not worth all the cool crossovers

this game changed my life. not sure if it ruined it or improved it, but i know it changed it.
