Really awesome game.
Drum and Bass / Breakcore music, awesome movement system.
Almost bug-free as well. None of them gamebreaking or impacting the experience.

Definitely see myself coming back to this game every once in a while.

Price wise... I bought it for 16€ in a sale and took 16hours to fully finish it. 1€/h is a good price in my book.
Undiscounted it's still fine. The game is still in active development and will just get more content, netting you more playtime as time goes on.

A 10/10 for this game

I liked the game. Pacing was good, if something took too long, you can just build another building to speed up the process.
It took me about 5hrs to beat the game, so I think it's worth shot.

Didn't encounter any bugs either. Definitely worth it.

I finished the game in 13 hours because I basically grinded through it. Personally I think it's a lot of fun. The story is interesting, but imo. not deep enough yet.
The skilltree adds enough of improvements / little changes to the gameplay loop to stay interesting, while - ofc - remaining repetitive.
Most of the current levels are different enough in size and theme.

The only real critique that I have is, that you don't really have to use the cleaning detergents, as you can "brute force" your way through the stains. Takes a little longer, but not long enough to force you to use the detergents.

While I would have liked to see more of the story, I think the current game has a good length. Baiscally: It's not long enough to get boring. I still hope for some content updates in the future / DLC's.

Some people are mad, that this games price increased by $5 due to inflation and compare to EA.
Those same people ignore the fact that we have a indie studio here with a single game, that's still being updated with a 2.0 release on the horizon.

This game still costs half of any AAA title and if you like it, will give you 100x more playtime.
This costs 32€ now and with my 266hrs I paid 12 cent per hour of playtime, while some AAA title will only net me 30-60hrs being +1€ per hour played.

You guys really need to redefine how you value your money.

Anyways. Awesome game which makes me keep coming back. I'll surely hit the 1k hours eventually.
Haven't played multiplayer ever, which would motivate me even more. So all solo playtime so far.

Best thing about this?

ME1 on Origin is nearly unplayable on Windows 10. Here in Steam? No problem at all! Weird but appreciated!

Tho I also have Overwatch, I really prefer Paladins somehow.
Don't know why, it just makes more fun for me.
Surely worth to try out.

The only critique:
Tho Paladins is no clone of Overwatch, since they both were in development at the same time and period, there is no hiding that Paladins takes inspiration, or even whole concepts of new Overwatch Heroes, and integrates them to Paladins.
On one hand: Not bad for gameplay and well... Inventing new Champions can be quite the task after a time, on the other hand: It feels a bit ripped off, since they even "copy" OW skins in some ways.
All this does not make this game a bad game tho.

I'll try to keep this as objective as possible - based on how I experienced the game.
As of today, 29.06.2019 - EU Servers
Warning: You won't find a explanation of the game here, but rather a few reasons why I would not download the game AS OF NOW.

TL;DR: (Steam wont let me post the whole thing)

CONS:
The devs behind RoE made some - not optimal nor popular - choised on their way to 1.0
- Removing DUOs for EU and AS (as of Release 26.06.2019) [Removed SOLO for US in the past - reverted that]
- Coming out of Early Access with the performance boosted Launcher being BETA.
- The performance boosted Launcher also not being stable (in FPS) all the time (but better than regular)
- Performance boosted Launcher is only available for DX12 capable systems (Windows 10) and for Nvidia GTX 960+ (more on that: Official Release Patch Notes - 6.26.2019)
- RoE is adding more cosmetics than performance upgrades lately (Since Season 3)

Neutral:
- Low Playerbase, which leads devs to displabe queues (You can see that as PRO or as CON)
- Also the performance boosted Launcher again: Good Thing, but blocks out every OS below Windows 10 (and as of today any Nvidia Card below GTX 960 - maybe that will change, since every DX11 card is also DX12 capable. Source: NVIDIA)

PROS:
- Innovative BR with some interesting movement options being Glider, BMX or Grabble Hook (or Snowboard, Glider and Climbing Gear for Snow Map), Helicopter extraction (4 people can win / 4 Teams in squad, still 4 seats)
- Devs, although they make bad choises, listen to the community and either try to improve those or revert them - if enough pressure is added.
- Slowly improving performace. So they are working on it.

Final verdict:
> Keep spectating the game. Please wait before you try it out or if you do, don't leave the game forever if missing DUO or fluctuating performance is what throws you off.
I am certain the game will improve and once it did, I will remove this review.

TL:DR
If you like a cute little Indie game, that takes city building and breaks it down to a pretty casual experience, then this is the game for you.
Kingdoms and Castles is exactly the game you would play for a few hours, and replay it a few weeks later - and so on.

Kingdoms and Castles is not the type of game you play for hours and hours and invest sleepless nights into. It's rather a game, where the fun is in the early stage in the game. So be warned: K&D doesn't have much of a "late game" > yet < (11/2018 || who knows that's to come). Still, I think it's well worth the 9,99€, since it's replay value is very high. As mentioned, when playing K&D, the fun lies in choosing a world, imagining what you want to make of it, and start doing it.

Many negative reviews speak of "After X hours, you have seen everything" - True | "The difficulty is way to low" - Can't argue with that | "Not enough content" - Well, I disagree.

It has just enough content, to have fun for 5 - 10 hours, depending on how fast you play the game, and I think that's all K&D needs. It doesn't consider itself an epos á la Anno. It's a cute little Indie Game that you'll like to play for a few hours from time to time.
And "not" recommending it for it's low difficulty, or because the main playtime (where you do the most stuff) is right at the beginning, for the next 2 - 3 hours, is a bit harsh - in my opinion.

So to wrap it up: -- See TL:DR --
