Very fun shooting, very smooth shooting if your computer isn't a POS. Lots of room for strategic planning, infact most of the game relies on it. Very active community around it.

No idea where to even begin.

This is the height of modern farming sims.
The basics are simple. Everything you need to know to start is given to you with no bells or whistles. You don't need to tie yourself in knots trying to figure out what plants are multi harvest, what season they are, when you should plant them. No. It tells you how long they take to grow, and if you need to plan for multiple harvests. Even what season to plant them in. No need to keep a spread sheet of how long they take to grow. No it's all stated planly where you can review as needed.

Yet, if you WANT to get more complicated you can. There are hidden systems to understand, percentages to influence, for those who want to delve much deeper into the system and keep track of what does what. It's a game that you can play as complicated or as simply as you'd like. It's entirely up to you, there are goals to achieve and work towards, but there are no time limits on them. You could do it all in 1-2 in game years.... or 10-20 in game years.

The characters are all very fun, but at the same time not really 'filtered'. They aren't watered down to be cutsey and cozy. They are, for lack of a better word, realistic. They have their own struggles, some are more selfish, some are very generous. But they are all colourful and distinctive. No two people act the same way or even similar. No one feels redundant or like they can be replaced with another in terms of personality.

It doesn't beat around the bush that bad things do still happen. People get into fights. Some realtionships are clearly unhealthy. Some people aren't doing well. Nothing is perfect, but at the same time no one is truly terrible. Its a good balance. For the most part, however, it's extremely positive and uplifting. Ultimatley things work out.

This game isn't going to be for everyone. The gameplay loop, is, as some people would find, "boring and repetative" It's a farming sim at it's heart. You have a farm to tend to. You talk and give people gifts to befriend them. You go mining to upgrade your tools. It's not an adventure game. It's a farmng/slice of life sim. And if you like those, you will enjoy this too. If you don't... then you might not find this to your taste.

As a final plus, even now, 8 years after it's release, the creator is adding large, overhauling patches and features. The most recent update added a lot of new things to explore, to discover, to do. And from what I hear he has no intention of ending the updates entirely.
It's a great game with a great developer working on it. I highly suggest, if a game about farming and learning about the characters around you, is interesting to you, you look into it.

Very much misunderstood what this game was... I thought it was a survival game, but it's not. That said, it's not bad by any means. My secret word was Asylum. Apparently very rare outcome so I'm proud

A very fun little adventure game. Cute graphics, cute music, simple- yet fun gameplay.

It is a repetitive game, but in my opinion it has just enough variation to keep me engaged, but if you aren't a fan of grinding, this probably isn't the game for you. If you ARE a fan, however, you'll love it. Cute charming characters, fun things to do, secrets to find. And the story is top notch, it's just complex enough to be interesting, without getting anywhere near a confusing degree.

I got this game off of Kickstarter for 15 CAD$
I knew going into it that it was early alpha, and it wouldn't have much to it. And what I found was about what I expected, although it felt slightly lackluster due to not having any tangible RPG elements; but still, I thought it was most certainly going to develop into something great.
This was in 2016.

I noticed nothing seemed to be happening in terms of updates, and shrugged it off; forgetting about this game. After a while I saw some emails from it, that the developers found a sponsor, and were going to go back to working on it. I was thrilled and followed the updates eagerly.

In 2019 I tried the game again.

It was worse.

I don't know how they managed it, but the game was worse. The physics were the same, the graphics were the same controls ect.
But the map. Before there was this large map, with little villages and humans around. Even a great lake to fly over! And it had an, albeit broken, quest system.

The new version had NONE of these... I was dumbfounded... in three years of development they made it WORSE.

It was at this point I truly realized, this game, this game was never going to be made. I like to hope the developers were good intentioned people who just realized they were in over their heads... but the fact that this game now charges 20$ for it, and there is nothing there... It makes me suspicious.

I never expected a completed game, I was content with just a sandbox environment I could run around and play. I would probably still be giving this a positive review, although it should have a lower price, if that's what it was at this point.

But it's not... I can't even roam the entire tiny map they have implemented, it glitches out and resets me back to the center.

Please... Don't buy this game. It really is a waste of your money, it's not even an investment into something. I have followed this game for four years now, and it has only gotten worse.
I wish I could say this game was good, or decent, or with potential, but it's not.

P.s. I suggest you sort the reviews by "Most Recent" to get an accurate understanding of it. The top comments are all from 2015-16, when it was still reasonable for it to be in such a state... after four years I atleast want a functional map to roam around. That's it.... Just a functional map...

In a few years I might try it again, who knows... but don't put your hopes in it... and please don't give them 20$ for a game they have only downgraded in the past four years.
