This games death was a tragedy, but here's a review for the memories I had.

The Good: This game was a creativity leap into customization in every single aspect of the game, from the community created islands, to the unique ship designer that was extremely easy to learn, especially for beginners. It was so simple and amazing, and I loved it. The game itself both in music, sound design, and visuals were all amazing, I would sit in one place and watch the cloud walls flow for so long just admiring how amazing it looked as calming music would play in the background, not to mention the basic design of the game's ships was borderline steampunk, and for airships? It meshed in to this game flawlessly. The community as well was amazing for the most part. But more on the community on the bad...Unfortunate to say...

The Bad: There are very few negative things I can say about this game. I suppose I'd have to start with the loading time, whenever I would get/drift close to another island, or if other ships would come in to my general field of view, my entire game would lag/freeze, I would be in one spot for so long and suddenly everything would be loaded in and I would be in an entirely different spot. It was very disorienting. The other thing I hated about the game was the player base. While yes, there were many random players that were nice, easy to talk to, as we would casually trade with each other while others would have mobile taverns stocked with drinks and food. There would be others in extremely large groups, like the "Join Or Die" clan or "Borg" clan. They basically made the game unplayable and arguably was what killed the game, the Join Or Die clan made me want to not play because of how often I would have to worry about them, or come across them. Once upon a time I would have said "they added a sense of danger to the game, a little action, an all powerful bad guy acting as a corruption we need to cure" but there's one big problem about them, they're players, you can't get rid of their forces because they'll just come back just as strong even on the off chance that you successfully destroy one of their ships if not more. I understand that every online game will have it's arse holes. But this was an organized LARGE group of them.


Now don't take this review the wrong way, the pros 100% outweigh the cons as there were only a couple. It's just that the pros were easier to explain than the cons were, because of how much there was wrong in that last con with the player base...I'm sorry to say, and I don't want to seem like an arse myself, but if you were part of Join Or Die, and actively helped them, you should feel directly responsible for the game's death. It died due to a lack of players. You were the ones that made people just not want to play. PVE may have existed, but that's not an excuse to force everyone in PVP to be part of 1 group. Especially those who want their own small clan for friends/family/etc. Like I did, and many many others I met along the way.

My only hopes are that either the community create a reboot of this game successfully, or that bossa brings it back for a second wind.

And my only regrets about this game, are that I didn't play it more often, thinking it would live longer. And not buying the largest supporter bundle while I had the chance.

I still have the option to refund my game as bossa gave to all of us. And I still refuse to do so.
I payed for my experience.
And that's a payment I never want to refund.
