Early Access Review
Built a makeshift base near the city, turned it into a permanent one, peaceful, prosperous times, settled down, stashed supplies. Little did we know a very persistent helicopter would chase us down and attract every single zombie in Rosewood to us. This is how we died.

I've always had a soft spot for survival games. I came back to Minecraft way too many times, but despite its promises as a survival game, I didn't feel challenged by the outside world. The game quickly became dull (this is a personal experience, and I'm not saying it's universal.) Monsters felt more like a backdrop to the world, not a hindrance to your goals. Many survival games suffer from this problem, providing an immersive/challenging experience, things that are foundational for a functional survival game. PZ achieves this perfectly, constantly throwing you obstacles through its in-depth, demanding survival system. The only thing that was bugging me was the lack of an end goal, which in my eyes, is no longer an issue because I realized that the game gets progressively more brutal, essential commodities eventually run out. The game could also explore this scenario by making the world around you more hostile. Infrastructure gradually collapses, zombies slowly become tougher to deal with, whether due to mutations or other circumstances. This could be an exciting challenge for an established character. There's a lot of avenues to explore. I've noticed some bugs and performance issues, these should not be an issue in the future with the game garnering immense attention, and for its price, it is worth every penny. If you're interested in trying out a hardcore/immersive survival experience, this game will keep you glued to your seat for hours and repay you for that $9 investment reasonably quickly. I can't wait for the updates that will undoubtedly polish existing features and add new ones.
