What a rough, unpleasant update from a game that had tremendous promise. Yuck. This reminds me of Rogue Legacy 2's rougher patches where they made a series of terrible QOL/experience-design updates that completely removed the fun from the game (hello breakable/useless armor stat and damage nerfs to already difficult classes).

Glaring problems:
1. The overwhelming majority of bonfire boons are not worth it - some of them even make the experience worse (LOL is this an actual f* you to your players? Get a life). The ones that offer choices often come at some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ trade-off (thanks I feel good about this (I dont, f* you)). And there are ton of reward paths with no meaningful, enjoyable value in progressive/meaningful rewards. As a matter of fact most of them feel extremely unimpactful (5% chance for some ♥♥♥♥ event to happen).
Honestly if the bonfire system wasn't so unpleasant this review I don't think I would be upset enough to even write this review. -15% chance to find a legendary item? F* you. Another level just to add a chance for improvements to the weapons you're less likely to find? Fire your game designer, that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ has a better future flipping burgers. I'm not interested in wasting my time grinding points for a reward system in an indie game - respect your player-base's time.
2. Pets - because we need more particles on the screen. The pets are also indistinguishable from enemies and their projectiles look alike. Real good work here! Awesome reward.
3. Garbage Rewards/Sets - ??? Why does this game need sets? There's already a sleuth of useless, asynchronous items that offer close to nothing of significant value. I dont need spell-based gear when I have 1 point in int offered to at every opportunity.
So you're telling me we need 2-3 items that might add critical (when I'm 5 stages deep and my character has had 0% chance for crits?) Instead of antagonizing your player base how about we get rid of these garbage and offer ways for your players to get through the challenge.
4. Remove accessories for the same reason above. Wasted reward opportunity because their designs offer so horrifically little in ways of rewards.
Honestly, **all** rewards are just worse. Weapons are less pleasant to experiment with: once you find something decent, chances are other items aren't much better, or it's similar but hitboxes are harder to handle. God level-up boons are either terribly unexciting or completely useless. On my very first playthrough I got 3 boons that made me feel like I had a chance - now I feel EXHAUSTED when I level up because NOTHING good came out of that ordeal.
5. Back to the previous point, the menu is awful to navigate. I dont want to guess-stimate damage on every weapon/item because everything is 100% harder to read/follow .
6. PLEASE get rid of the new status ailments. Good god I don't care about -35% enemy movement speed this never ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ mattered. This is a bullet hell game do you even know what you're developing?

The game was fine before the most recent 0.2 upgrade. Developers forgot what they're builded and added a ton of extremely unpleasant changes to the game. This game has become unrewarding, unpleasant, and honestly just ugh. I'd rather do manual labor.
