To preface everything, I love this game. I just think there's potential that isn't being fully realized. However, the game is definitely still trying to figure itself out and you can see, hear, and feel some of those growing pains. Due to the fact that Destiny 2 changes every other week, I'll update this review every 3-6 months to keep this relevant. I'll be dividing this review up into a few sections so it's easier to digest, General Gameplay, Story, PvP Balance, PvE Balance, and Misc.

Do I recommend this game? Not unless you have some innate urge to farm for hours on end for the perfect set of Dunemarchers to complete your Optimal DPS/Add Clear Middle Tree Sunbreaker build with a One-Two Punch shotgun

General Gameplay
Destiny feels like Destiny. Bungie knows how to make a game fun to interact with. Guns feel good to use, abilities are interesting and engaging (with some exceptions). The game tells you that you're a Wizard Space God with Guns™ and you feel like you are.

Story
There is a story now! Starting in Season 13, it's Season 14 at the time of writing, there is an actual story with plot points and overarching narrative. No spoilers for those that care, but the story is engaging and utilizes some characters that feel like they were left out to dry for no good reason.

PvP Balance
For those who have been with Destiny since its launch back in 2014, you would know that PvP Balancing is not Bungie's strong suit. They tend to over or under correct by large margins and, up until recently, were quite slow regarding balancing patches. Thankfully, the latter bit has changed, but the other yet remains. All Subclass elements are viable in PvP now, and while Stasis is still powerful, it is no longer the pay-to-win subclass it was previously and does require some thinking.

PvE Balance
PvE remains largely the same, with most every weapon being viable, and the optimal strat being some combination of Warmind Cells and Charged With Light mods. I feel Stasis is actually a bit neglected in PvE, as there are yet to be Stasis weapons outside of Exotics, and there are no Stasis shields on enemies, removing the need to use stasis in higher tier PvE.

Misc.
We need an Anti-cheat my guys, game's bad with cheaters, it's no fun getting insta-clapped by some guy who knows the exact GPS location of all 187 polygons that make up my pinky finger. pls bungo.
